A young Arab boy asks his dad, "What are you wearing on your head?"
The father says, "It is a Chechia. It protects our heads from the intense heat of the sun in the desert."
"And what is the long flowing robe you are wearing?" asks the boy.
"Oh, my son!" exclaimed the father. "It is very simple. This is a Dishdasha. As I have told you, it is not only very hot in the desert, but the sand is always blowing. This Dishdasha protects my entire body."
The son then asks, "But father, what about those ugly shoes you have on your feet?"
"These are Babouches my son," the father replied. "You must understand that although the desert sand is very beautiful, it is also extremely hot. These Babouches protect us from burning our feet."
The son asks, "What is that black tent mom and sister are wearing?"
Father replies, "It's called a Burka and it helps the hot desert sand from hitting the face and body during a sandstorm."
"So tell me then...." added the boy.
"Yes, my son…."
"Then why the HELL are we living in Birmingham and still wearing all this shit?"
