Rusticate Kanhaiya Kumar, recommends top JNU panel

JNU had on March 11 revoked the academic suspension of eight students including Mr Kumar.

New Delhi: A high-level committee of the Jawaharlal Nehru University has recommended rustication of students union president Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya and two other students for their alleged role in a controversial event last month at which anti-national slogans were raised.

Sources said a decision on the recommendation will be taken by vice-chancellor M. Jagadesh Kumar and chief proctor A. Dimri.

The report was discussed at a meeting of the university top brass, following which the varsity issued showcause notices to 21 students including Mr Kumar and Mr Khalid, who were found guilty by the panel of having violated university rules and discipline norms.

The committee was formed on February 10 to probe the event organised to protest the hanging of Afzal Guru, the Parliament attack convict. Mr Kumar, Mr Khalid and Mr Bhattacharya were arrested on charges of sedition in connection with the programme. Mr Kumar was released on bail from Tihar on March 3 while the other two remained in judicial custody.

JNU had on March 11 revoked the academic suspension of eight students including Mr Kumar. It was decided to keep them under suspension from academic activities till the inquiry was over. They were allowed to stay in the hostels.
Does it matter what this stupid panel says?

I am hearing panels from my childhood, with zero record in execution of their reports.
Nothing happens with two or more nationalistic people here and there rising voice. Everyone has responsibility.

Our Judiciary gave him bail irrespective of his crime. No hope there.

Bail ≠ Bharat Ratna

There are two things here :
1)Procedure is being followed
2)The procedure is slow

Which one of those two things are extraordinarily unique? isn't this how it's always been? I've had similar frustration with the slow trial of Kasab and Yakub Menon, I've always professed that they (and other people like them) must be quickly bumped off extra-judicially because the process is slow, but now that I look at it, I think it makes sense to put them through the process, if it means that will draw public attention towards the sluggish nature of anti-terror trials and maybe people will ask for a speedier process for violence against the nation like people did for fast track courts in cases of 'violence against women'. The more you rely on Plan B (bumping off) your Plan A (law machinery) will always remain weak because no one took the trouble to speed it up.

This is what I wanted from this government: Engage and Destroy. Don't give them breathing space, these snakes will never stop biting.

I am waiting for the day when the five fraudsters will be summarily rusticated from the campus. FTII's Uncles deserve similar treatment. I will hold grand celebrations.

Guys, are you all noticing one thing? After so much hailing for Kanhaiya in media, they thought people will make sympathy with him. Alas, now when majority people are becoming against him, media is not showing Kanhaiya anymore. My poor media baby, stuck injection on your backyard by your own hand!! Ouch, did it hurt? OMG....don't play toys which you can't handle.

Nationalists were on the backfoot during the FTII drama and to some extent during the Rohit fiasco but they have covered a lot of ground in the JNU issue. This has made a major dent in the minds of people which were gripped by leftist thought in one way or other. We must understand that leftism is not just defined by the number of seats that self-declared communist parties have in the assembly and parliament. There are many parties which are defacto communist parties but refuse to identify themselves as such. Besides, leftism is a deep rooted disease that has infected a large section of our society. The JNU incident has pulled many Indians out of the spell of leftism.

It's our cultural values and understanding of the idea of India, you can never take away that from us, if you try to pin it, you'll loose all the faith. Leftists are on the mission, they wamt to break India and for that they want to destroy our cultural values 1st. We need to give them hard core reply and need to demolish their academic presence so our future generations don't suffer from the lack of real Sanskar.

That's happening steadily as we speak. Madras high court passed an order making it mandatory for all schools in the state to sing the national anthem, yesterday. Today, W.Bengal government has passed an order making it mandatory to sing the national anthem in all schools. No bleeding heart liberals barking about it now because they have lost the intellectual space in society.

Madras High Court has made singing of national anthem mandatory for all the schools in the state, including the private schools. This order was passed by the First Bench comprising of the Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M.M.Sundresh in a PIL filed by one Mr. N.Selvathirumal, an Ex-serviceman who approached this Court aggrieved by the non-singing of the National Anthem in various Schools in Tamil Nadu.

The stand of the respondents in the writ petition including the Union of India and Schools was that the National Anthem ought to be sung and is being sung, but the petitioner submitted that the ground reality is that it is not being sung. CBSE submitted that it has notified that the schools must strictly comply the orders relating to National Anthem of India. The Court observed “We would expect that keeping in mind the mandate of the Constitution of India, the respect for the National Anthem and the National Flag, the Circulars issued by the CBSE and the other authorities, singing of the National Anthem would be taking place in various Institutions. The private Schools must follow such singing of the National Anthem as part of their curriculum.”

TRP is not that important issue, media is accustomed with Congress & left's rule, politics is the real issue, they know that people of India have caught them pants down with the left, so silence.

Because, congress and left feed them alcohol , briyani, foreign trips along with delegations.

When Modi became the PM all this stopped. Now he does not entertain media much, nor their official foreign trips and darubazi in 5 star hotels.

Their days of aish or araam are only when congress is in power.

‘We are JNU family, we will fight for Umar and Anirban’

Ram Krishna and his many friends, who had traveled all the way from Begusarai in Bihar, had only one aim: they wanted to hear JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar’s speech and meet him once. Ram Krishna and the 100-odd student, from Kumar’s village in Bihar, participated in the march held in solidarity with JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya Tuesday.

“The youth in our village are quite angry. How can anyone be termed anti-national just like that? Nobody in Begusarai believes Kanhaiya is anti-national. We have come here to tell him that in person,” said Krishna.

Meanwhile, on a day when the judicial custody of Umar and Anirban was extended by two weeks, students from the university again took to the streets, demanding their release and the dropping of sedition charges.

Posters, with smiling photographs of Khalid and Bhattacharya, were stuck on the back of marching protesters’ T-shirts, on police barricades lining Barakhamba Road, and the chai shops at Jantar Mantar. These posters were put up early and stayed for a long time, long after the 1,000-odd protesters had left.

The buses with JNU students arrived just before 4 pm, the protesters tumbling out of them. Police personnel, wearing their protective jackets, lined the road with a long hand-held rope to prevent the protesters from stepping onto the other side of the road. The ‘azaadi’ slogans made famous by Kumar were now taken up by others. Slogans demanding the release of Umar and Anirban were raised.

“Comrade Umar, Anirban ko riha karo. Sedition charges wapas lo,” chanted the protesters, followed by slogans against the central government and Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani. Amid the Tricolour and party flags of various student organisations, students declared, “We debate, we dissent, we are JNU.”

While addressing the crowd, author and activist Arundhati Roy said it was “the beginning of a battle between those who know how to hate and those who know how to think”.

Kumar, who arrived after the march concluded at Parliament Street, addressed the Prime Minister in his speech.

“Woh kehte hain JNU mein deshdrohi rehte hain, hum kehna chahte hain Modiji hum deshdrohi nahi, RSS ke khilaf droh kar rahe hain”.

JNUSU’s Rama Naga said, “… Umar’s JNU family is no different from his family, we are with him and Anirban, and will keep fighting till their release.”
check the remark of 5-star 'gandhian with love gun'.
'intellectualism' is the last refuge of the condomunist (well, first too).
do watch the DNA of 14th and 15th Feb (esp. 15th) about the maoists of aboojhmaad. tells much about the credibility of this bleeding mind to harp on the subject so authoritatively.

P.S. - Someone's old quote - "Do not discuss and debate with communists & islamists. If they ask for any discussions, invite them to fight. Both of these groups understand only the language of force."

Tata Motors strike: Workers may ask Kanhaiya, Hardik Patel for support
They say they may also go to Argentina and urge football star Lionel Messi to stop endorsing the Nano brand

File photo of a Tata Motors official offering a rose to workers at the company's plant in Sanand, Gujarat, on February 2, 2016. The workers are protesting the suspension of their 28 colleagues.

As the striking workers at Tata Motors’ Sanand plant garnered the support of 22 trade unions in the state, unions have threatened civil disobedience to restore rights of all industrial workers in Gujarat.

Speaking at a press conference here today Ashim Roy, vice-president of the National Trade Union Initiative, said, “The company has taken punitive action against 26 workers. Also the intention is to not let workers form a union at the plant.”

He said this was a violation of workers’ rights and claimed 22 trade unions, including the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) had extended support to their struggle.

Roy said the unions would undertake a statewide movement to expose the victimisation of labour and farmers in Gujarat.

Union leaders are planning to invite popular faces of dissent like JNU student Kanhaiya Kumar and Patidar agitation leader Hardik Patel to extend support to workers at the Tata Motors plant.

The Sangh Parivar-affiliated Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has not yet come out in support of the movement.

“The company respects the right of workmen to form a union. The 26 workmen who have been suspended on charges of serious misconduct have nothing to do with union formation. All workmen other than those suspended on charges of indiscipline should resume duty,” a Tata Motors spokesperson said.

The Ahmedabad district collector had tried to mediate between the workers and the management on Friday and asked the striking workers to resume work.

The workers held a secret ballot today in which an overwhelming majority voted in favour of continuing the strike. Workers and trade union members will demonstrate in front of the collector's office on Monday and later at the Sanand industrial estate.

Roy even threatened to shut down the company's showrooms in Gujarat. Plans are afoot to move the Gujarat High Court over the state government declaring the strike illegal.

“We are willing to join from tomorrow if they withdraw the suspension. We are open to a neutral enquiry, and will accept the outcome,” said Hitesh Rabari, a striking worker. The workers are unhappy with their wages and the main objective behind forming the union is to negotiate better pay.

Around 422 permanent workers at the Tata Motors Sanand plant went on a flash strike on February 22 and staged a sit-in at the plant from February 23, protesting against the suspension of 26 workers. Company sources claimed 50 workers had resumed work since then.

The state labour department prohibited the strike on March 2, and the company set a deadline of March 11 for striking workers to join back, failing which they would face action.

The plant makes the new Tiago hatchback, bookings for which opened recently. Workers claimed production of the car had slowed to 35-50 per day after touching a peak of 100 in January. The plant has a capacity to produce 250,000 cars a year and was earlier dedicated to the production of the Nano. Workers said that at present about 60-70 Nanos are being made at the site per day.

Amrish Patel, secretary Gujarat Majdoor Sabha and also vice president of Trade Union Center of India who is an advisor to the Tata Marcopolo workers' union at Dharwad, claimed, "Apart from Sanand and Dharwad, protests are taking place at Tata Motor's Pantnagar plant as well with regards to unionisation."

do watch the DNA of 14th and 15th Feb (esp. 15th)
What's the deal with DNA? isn't it linked to Zee news? the online portal smells stinkier than communist mouth pieces like The Hindu. Does the online version of DNA have different management, what's up?

That's because no matter how much we hate to admit it, the left has indeed invested a lot of resources in building their information dissipation network. They have news channels, news papers, they wrote blogs on high visibility websites, they go to talk shows, they write books, they do a lot to maintain their grip on their audience. When someone hijacks so many mediums of communication, it is natural to have a sway over the audience.

The RW is catching up.

If you ask me, such legislatives and orders actually sadden me. It's natural to sing National Anthem in schools so our children can easily develop the nationalism into their DNA. When I was serving in school health program during my internship in Gujarat, I went to see a school run by Muslim trust, they do sing national anthem there everyday. I was so glad to see that. It's unfortunate that government or court have to pass an order to sing the National anthem on mandatory basis.

I have very few times read the portal & its print version. never noticed such a thing. infact if am not wrong they dont have any 'editorial' section, a poop-corner where most of the filth in 'leading' noosepapers lies. could you cite an article or two which reek of the bile? I was seriously thinking of subscribing to this newspaper after kicking out Harami Times. BTW I had written about the show DNA of Zee News in my earlier post.

I read, in US/RCA, @nytimes got discredited recently. large swathes of population are turning away from MSM, they are feeling betrayed and getting onto SM. on SM, they have some voice (even if it is for outrage and for their own beliefs) and they get the news, views, analysis and ideas from SM. MSM is severely handicapped in this area and hence going all out to gain the TRPs. problem (with them) is the march of technology and ideas is enabling them to paint themselves into a corner!
