They had J-10's dual rabbits available to Jf-17 for years.

Not necessarily... its not hard to assemble 8 aircrafts in 8 months.

Don't know look like the airframe just like blk2 so not much aerodynamic behavior change can expected, but if it have improved engine and gud radar may be it will be worth to 10% fan fart given by pak boys

When u have hmd u have much more situational awareness and mission data representation, maws is welcome move but still it not a Major improvement their bk1 and 2 already have this one may be this one borrowed from j10c avionics, am looking frwd to which one is its engine if no engine upgrad it will be same as blk2 with avionics upgraded

There is no engine upgrade, its still the RD93. Other than the fanboys, it was always believed Blk 3 was more of an internal upgrade like Mk1 to Mk1a tejas rather than major upgrade.
But seriously that HUD is probably the largest ever fit to anything that I've seen.

BTW. FC-1 is such a small/light plane, so something seems bigger....the perfect size fit might be here.

The spine is different...widened & raised like later Mig-21 Bis/Bison versions. Most likely to make room for fuel. No new engine, so increased range.

That's claimed to be a new wide-angle holographic HUD (somewhat negated by HUD, but still advantageous)... it's crude & cumbersome . I'm not sure if Tejas Mark 1A will be getting MAWS.
Both points to FC-1 Block III in that case.

That's not a holographic HUD(none of Chinese planes have at current).

Sure? This being their first one, is still untested. So they could be using the Paki platform until it matures.

To be honest, Jf17 will be quite a decent platform if they can buy it with AESA and other internal improvements for under $40m.

It's a junk plane stop giving it any importance, they inducted 120 of these & it has yet to match Mk1a specifications --- it's necessity not what PAF want.

I said 'decent', which is far from great. I mean if PAF is able to replace its Mirage 3/5 and F7 with JF17 entirely, then they'd have standardized most of their fleet and will save a lot of money and effort in the upkeep and providing spares. The R&D will be taken care of by the Chinese, so PAF will only have to pay for procurement.

And to be frank, even Mk1a is not upto the specifications put up for itself yet, since not even one airframe has been built.

The target for both tejas and Jf17 is pretty much the same -
Lightweight single seat point defense fighter,
secondary ground attack role,
built of indigenous content,
costing no more than $1B per squadron including accessories, spares etc.

there are three Generations of holographic HUD projects in China. the J20 owns the latest Generation one. that EHUD-2 is just the improved 2nd Gen one for EXPORT purpose with some 3rd Gen tech ... the typical 2nd Gen one is the holographic HUD on J11B/15/16/10B/10C.

Why would China allow its latest gen tech on a JV(susceptible to espionage) rather than its coveted 5th gen project. Its logical.
JF17 would get no better than China 2nd tier A/Cs
