1.JF-17 Thunder is neither a junk nor a blunder. For a first time in the industry, Pakistan must be commended.
By going with its price tag JFT is good machine. But comparing it with MKIs, f35,rafale make it junk. China developed it only for export, till date not a single plane in PLAAF service. There frontline fighter are su30.

BEIJING: China and Pakistan have entered into an agreement to keep technology secrets of the PAC JF-17 combat aircraft from India and the US, a Beijing based quasi-government military website said.

The jet has been jointly developed by the two countries. Pakistan has also resisted a recent attempt by the US to delve into the secrets of the technology, the Sina Military Network said. JF-17 Thunder multi-role combat aircraft is superior to F-16 of the US, it said.

The Network quoted Pakistan air force commodore Khalid Mahmood, head of the JF-17 sales and marketing team, saying that there has been no problems with it after more than 7,000 hours of use. Mahmood said the aircraft features flexible weapons stations that enable the JF-17 to be equipped with any weapon purchased on the open market.

It said Chinese engineers are looking for ways to lighten the weight and streamline the aircraft. One new advancement is pairing an RD-93 engine with a so-called divergent supersonic air intake which is said to be lighter, easier to maintain and minimizes the JF-17's already low radar signature.

The Minhas No 2 squadron of the Pakistan Air Force has recently inducted a new and improved configuration of the jet called the Block II variation. It has improved avionics and better software, as well as a fixed air-to-air refueling probe, the Network said.

The Network said Minhas is the third PAF squadron to be upgraded to the JF-17. It is expected to replace the Chengdu F-7P , a Chinese-made fighter that can be equipped with C-802A anti-ship missiles.

What does India and US wish to copy from JF-17 fighter?

Is it outdated technology they are worried about? Or grab its weaknesses to shoot it down easily in the battle.

Something they must be worried about.

Now I get it, it's eighties era hydraulic control system they are worried about that these would be copied. The world has moved into fly by wire system. Who cares for the hydraulic systems.

Seriously, they are worried about US knowing, how many systems of F-16 they have copied, if US comes to know, they will be upset. But does US care about seventies era technology in F-16, although it is a great plane but without hundreds of updates which came after China and US copied its technology, it is soupped up F-86.
