I was reading somewhere that cost of developing Yamuna as waterway is 12,000 crore INR and Government has asked world bank for loan to fund this project
if we develop this waterway then Delhi NCR , Haryana , Rajasthan and Punjab can also get connected to National Waterway 1 which will bring huge benefits to this region as Delhi NCR won’t remain a landlocked region and it will be possible for heavy industries to set up plants in this region like automobile manufacturing for example
A Rs 12, 000 crore project for developing a water route from Delhi to Agra to Prayagraj has been prepared. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Water Resources said that the plan will be submitted by his Ministry to the World Bank soon.
In India we have not been able to develop our existing rivers as waterways but in China they’re not only using existing rivers but also making artificial rivers for diverting water and using it as inland waterways
@Lonewolf You were right Madhya Pradesh will take huge benifit of national waterway one as it is very close to Allahabad and Varanasi
Madhya Pradesh will also benifit from the Waterway to be developed on Yamuna River
The Freight From Maharashtra , Gujarat and Rajasthan will also pass through Madhya Pradesh to access Bay of Bengal and South East Asian Countries using the NW1
