About the Show
Napoleon said - “an army marches on its stomach.” That’s convincing enough for Rocky and Mayur as they crawl through trenches, gaze at magnificent flying machines and swim through the deep, with only one goal in mind- army/ mess kitchen.

From rock climbing with super fit para commandos to digging a pit for artillery’s field kitchen to cleaning tank engines – it's hard day of work and well-earned meal.

They go the formal way; dining in with officers, learn the art of toasting and of patience as they are forced to follow protocol. But their real wild sides aren’t silenced as they scan the jungles for edible bugs and bees.

They survive the thickest jungles of the east, and brave the scorching sun in the deserts of the west - all for food that accounts for the legendary fitness of the men of Indian Armed Forces.

About Rocky

Rocky Singh was born at the Military Hospital in Jaipur where his father, Maj. Amarjeet Singh Hundal, was posted and serving with the 20th Lancers before moving to the 72 Armoured regiment. He was killed in action in the 71 war leaving behind a legacy of great pride and honour. His grandfather fought World War II in Iraq and Burma. Rocky is a product of a flat out military family, growing his hair long was always an issue and not jumping out of bed at the morning Reville (Bugle) is an old habit. He still considers himself an army of one and frequently goes to war with cuisine across the planet taking on all comers. His family are still all serving career soldiers, and he still sometimes feels the urge to enlist, really, he does .… JAI HIND.

About Mayur

Mayur Sharma is the son of a retired Indian Air Force officer so amongst other things he can make his bed with a craftsman's precision and shine his boots to a mirror finish. Mayur lost his uncle a young officer in the Indian Navy in the 1971 war and his family takes pride in this sacrifice. He is inspired by the passion, commitment, discipline and shared camaraderie demonstrated by each and every member of the Indian Armed Forces he has been fortunate enough to meet (and eat with) during the making of Jai Hind'. In turn he hopes they are inspired by the single minded focus he brings to his calling...food :)

Where every Infantry Army officer must go. Over 1,000 km. in 35 days - that's 30 km. a day.
