India has already paid $295 million to Russia for the preliminary design phase. Official said termination meant that all this money has now gone ‘down the drain.’

I humbly repeat my question: did money refund?
R&D can be used for multiple technologies, low IQ person. Plus india could have adjusted this money against the tons of other joint development or outright acquisition projects we have with the Russian. Also, as a Chinese, you are not allowed to post any open democracy’s news. If you want to quote other countries’ news, first open up your news to the outside world. Then we will see the real capabilities of the Chinese products.
No one has seen any Chinese paper planes in operation in any theater including across the Taiwan straits. If j20 was any good, the plaaf would be flying sorties there everyday. China might get the tech and avionics right some day but it is all too early now. And Chinese are not going to get their hands on tech like this below for some time. These things take collaborative effort. And no one trusts China to do any collaboration with you.

Eye test time😳
Unknown number of J-20 fighters
Fly these on sorties across the Taiwan straits. or, in some open air force shows. Better yet take on American planes in your neighborhood in a limited air war. The reality is all other plane manufacturers have extensively participated in air shows, and flown their planes under real enemy radars, and their planes have actually participated in real air wars. China has done nothing. Just a loud mouth and incessant propaganda at all times.

Why? Chinese are a peaceful people and don't fight wars. We rather trade, make money and build infrastructure!

All these ships and airplanes are to give invaders something to think about!

If you are not going to invade China, you don't need to know if they are good or not :)

Then who fought the Pangong Tso battle and lost a bunch of lives? Mongolians?
Who is threatening to invade Taiwan? Vietnamese?

1. First of all invading China is pretty easy - there is a bunch of disgruntled nations all around you, with many like Japan, Korea, and India having superior tech in several areas - so you'd be taking on multiple giants.
2. PLA has very llittle experience doing joint training exercises - so we can expect very behind-the-curve war tactics.
3. One child policy means male members are a lot more valuable and therefore cannot die. Plus, like most East Asian society, Chinese are a patriarchal society.
4. Occupied Tibet and Xinjiang are very large areas - low level rebel attacks will tie down the entire PLA here, much like Balochistan ties down the Pak Army due to the sparsely populated, geographical spread, Not to mention the cost of warfare goes up tremendously.
5. Most likely the Quad blocks Malacca strait and the Gulf shipping lanes, depriving China of much needed energy supplies. China being an export-based economy, is going to suffer tremendously.
6. China is food insecure - there is not enough land to grow staple crops to eat plus seasonal floods devastate food all the time. If countries stop exporting food to China or make it pricier, many Chinese will starve to death.
7. Very little livable land area - the livable portion of China is less than the size of India - and even less cultivable area. This means effective annihilation of Chinese cities needs to happen only on a smaller, dense area, just about the size of Indo-CHina countries put together. No one has to bomb the vast unlivable areas of China. So the cost of warfare is actually smaller for the nations that bomb China. But cost of warfare is huge for China as you have to bomb the whole of India, ASEAN, Japan, far away Australia, S. Korea etc to establish deterrence.
8. The livable areas of China has no access to any emergency resources as it borders Siberia - another wasteland to the north where nothing grows. And North Korea has no strategic depth or resources to help.

So, let's see livable area of China is surrounded by wastelands where nothing grows to the north and west and by hostile powers to the east and south. At the end of the day hemmed in, small dense GDP area presents a huge threat for the PLA due to a lack of strategic depth - something India's neighbor Pakshaitan also faces as their livable land area is a small sliver along the Indus and that too to the east of the river where all their major cities from Islamabad to Lahore to Karachi can be hit just with Indian artillery. Their most economy producing city Lahore can be hit with just with small arms - they are right on our border. Same goes for China - Taiwan and Japan and Korea can hit top tier Chinese cities with low cost, long range artillery, much like India can hit Chengdu and Kunming from our northeast.

So, you see China's 95% GDP producing small area is screwed. So, you better fly those J20s and test them in a mock battle, as you need to conduct long range, stealthy operations to defeat your enemies. Your survival is at stake. Get on it.

Either that or disband the PLA.

I do not doubt that there are nice and descent people in China, there are good people everywhere.

But the Chinese government i do not think is a loving and peaceful institution.

Weapons are always built to be used either as deterrement or as killing machines.
Perhaps you are a peace loving person, but i do not think the PPC is a good institution, sorry, If i have to choose between the american government and the Chinese i prefer the USA.

Air Marshal (Retd) Raghunath Nambiar called Rafale as the 'best aircraft' in the sky. He said the jet stands head against Chengdu J-20 if compared.

This guy has seen action in Kargil and know what he is talking about since he has seen the actual intelligence reports on the failings of the J-20.

For Hindi-speaking viewers:
China J-20 fighter failed in Tibet High altitude | J-20 is not yet ready to face Su-30MKI & Rafale
1.Chinese J-20 fighter failed in High altitude, Change tires after two landings The J-20 is a fifth-generation air superiority twin-engine heavy stealth fighter developed by China. According to Chinese claim, J-20 is a high situational awareness and high maneuverability. The aircraft will be responsible for the future air and sea combat of the Chinese military. But I don’t know how J-20 performed this stuff without a proper new-gen engine. Recently Sohu reported that Chinese so called 5th Gen fighter aircraft facing major problems in High altitude area. The first problem china facinng is thin air. The plateau airport where the J-20 first tested flight has an altitude is more than 4,000 meters. The annual average temperature is about 4.1 degrees Celsius. The air density is only 66% of sea level, and the air is thinner. The lack of oxygen in the air in the plateau area reduces the intake of the turbofan engine, which affects the temperature of the combustion chamber, which results in a slower turbine speed and slower acceleration during the take-off taxiing phase, increasing the take-off distance. 2.China’s J-20 fighter is not yet ready to face Indian Su-30MKI and Rafale According to experts, China’s stealth fighter pilots have no combat experience and have not participated in any war. there are few details about the J-20’s capabilities in the public domain; if so, only some one-way information, exaggerated by the Chinese press. In the event of a confrontation with the Indian Air Force, China will likely use Russia’s Su-35, Su-30MKK multi-role attack fighter, or the J-16, J-11 and J-10C broadcast. development in the country. J-7, J-8 and JH-7 will not be deployed to the front line, due to range restrictions along the LAC. In contrast, the Rafales that India is equipped with has gone through real combat many times; with a maximum ceiling of 15km, they can perform exceptionally well at high altitudes. The Rafales possesses superior maneuverability than the Su-35 in a close-range dogfight and is capable of flying at supersonic speeds with less fuel consumption, far superior to fighter jets. China’s J-10, J-11 and Su-27.

Agree with you , it is true that the competitiveness (military) of the current aviation power is only China, U. S and Russia.
China may be relatively poor in key technologies. For example, the research and development of aeroengines has been lagging behind, but it may be the fastest growing in these 20 years. In particular, the service of the J-20 stealth aircraft warfare has officially entered the high class of aviation.

Just a nice pic ( 三七V博 from Weibo )

I don’t want to answer questions about the flight performance of the J20. I just want to say that the J20 is not only a fighter plane, but also the most powerful information node and intelligence sharing platform in the war.

Yes, we Chinese are very poor, our weapons are cheap imitations, our Chinese are lazy, the Chinese soldiers are cowardly, the Chinese government is dictatorial and arrogant, our country will collapse, yes, all Indians say so.
However, we love our country and are willing to give up my life for China, recreating the glory and prosperity of ancient China amidst everyone’s doubts, curses, and attacks

China's development from a small village on the lower reaches of the Yellow River to a country with a territory of 9.6 million square kilometers does not depend on peace. We understand the strength of India, Japan, and the United States, and we also know our own strength.

Stop the boring quarrel!
This is the J-20j topic, and don’t expect positive ratings from Indians

Bhosdike👌👌
Recreating the glory?
Doubts, curses and attacks?

Remove the CCP, or create an Opposition entity in which the CCP can forward an agenda and fight elections
Then we'll tak about peace, you are de facto proud of the CCP which hides casualties of your own martyrs

I’m here to introduce China’s Flanker fighters, J11A, J11B, J15, J16
A week before the Tiananmen Square incident, General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Gorbachev visited China. After nearly three decades of confrontation, relations between China and the Soviet Union normalized. Subsequently, China and the Soviet Union signed a contract to introduce su27UK.
The Su-27 uses advanced technologies such as turbofan engines, wing-body fusions and central lift bodies, but many extreme measures are used to reduce weight in the design, which affects the strength of the body to a certain extent. Due to the limitations of the Soviet electronic technology level, the basic Su-27 only uses analog fly-by-wire flight control, and the radar, fire control, and cockpit are equivalent to the level of the United States and Europe in the 1970s.

In 1991, China spent about US$1 billion to order the first batch of 24 Su-27s from Russia, of which 18 were single-seater and 6 were two-seater. Subsequently, in 1995, a second batch of 22 was ordered, of which 16 were single-seater and 6 were double-seater.

On December 6, 1996, the Chinese and Russian governments reached an agreement after a long period of negotiation. Russia will provide technology and aircraft parts to assist the Shenyang Aircraft Company to produce up to 200 Su-27SK fighters in China. The total value is 25. Billion U.S. dollars (for example, 6 billion U.S. dollars), the agreement also restricts China from exporting. The agreement stipulates that the Amur Komsomolsk manufacturing plant will first provide a complete set of components, which will be assembled in China and then gradually localized. The model renamed after the introduction of China is called the J-11 aircraft, which is a twin-engine, heavy-duty, long-range and all-weather air superiority fighter.

This batch of Chinese self-assembled fighter jets is called J11A, using N001 radar, R27 air-to-air missile, R73 air-to-air missile, useless structural reinforcement, transonic traps still exist, after assembling 80 J11A, the Chinese Air Force finds it difficult to face Taiwan Japan’s F16 and Japan’s F15 decided to abandon the plan to continue to assemble the SU27. China decided to design the J11B by itself. The J11A was upgraded in the later stage. It can launch R77 air-to-air missiles, but it is still at the level of F15A. It is foreseeable that it will be defeated in Thai air combat of,

The development of J11B is very difficult. The WS10 engine had early reliability problems, which seriously affected the dispatch rate. After the local structure is replaced with "stiffness and other generations", chattering occurs, which needs to be solved with counterweight. The fire control system continues the design positioning of the Su-27 for pure air combat, and lacks the ability to use precision guided ground attack weapons.

The J-11B was delivered to use in June 2007 and formed full combat capabilities in 2013. . Just as Xiao Jun, a brigade commander of the Central Theater Air Force Aviation Corps, who just completed the restructuring of the J-11A to the J-11B in 2015 and took down two "golden helmets" in 2016, said when evaluating the J-11B: "You are old when you are young." This is a pity for modern heavy fighters that frequently require 30-40 years of service life.
