I read the parliament reply, Propulsion module & rover were fully assembled & ready, LSPT tests were successfully completed & Lander is in assembly stage. I think L110 & C-25 stages were also realised . But the problem is launching 2 GSLV-MK3'S in a very short span next year. Let's see what they will do.

I saw some members had reservations about the ISRO-OPPO deal, here's a neat video by GS you can watch it (4 mins), it's in hindi but english captions are available which are decent

He gives examples of previous deals with RealMe, Xiaomi with ISRO, the fact Navic enabled chips off arm are already on the devices of redmi series.

This particular deal was about 'broadcast' service of NAVIC. Broadcast is basically one way message to large group of devices which is very useful in disaster management, weather warning and especially for fishing vessels. Apart from that basic NAVIC services that's it. It was just a PR show, highlights the good work of ISRO and give the needed pr for company but some media houses who are worthless pigs have never done anything good to society just plunged at the nonexistent low hanging fruit and created the mess of fearmongering.

How? How's the navic location of a device better than gps location? And please don't tell that with gps, they need to put in a new software to track because the bloatware in Chinese phones or any phone does that pretty well.

Ya'll Nibbiars Read this thread.

Read already. Goes round in circles on how we should promote Indian companies, 12 billion dollars investment that Chongs shouldn't take advantage of(weird), Oppo will be strongly entrenched in the Indian market due to this(hardly so, which company has offered a particular type of navigation system as it's value please tell me. Customer doesn't give a damn if it's GPS or Navic as long as Maps and all work fine)
Also, no answer on how it is any more dangerous than the situation at present? They already have your location data if you use their phone. They also have a bulk load of other info(media, contacts, email, banking details) if you use their phone or apps (which you most likely do).

Col Bakshi doesn't say anything about our location data. What he says is that the oppo will use ISRO's name to enter more into our market. Yes, normal people doesn't give a damn which navigation system their phone uses, but even in the remote places of our country people knew about ISRO & and oppo can use ISRO's popularity to promote itself.

Please quote any single piece of marketing communication where they've offered/ shown isro's navigation system as a value offering. I have only seen stuff like battery life, camera specs, ram, and even made in India tag recently.

Pretty horrendous state if true,
It is too well known that many satellites were launched by ISRO with 2 to 5 years lag in setting up of ground segments. The aborted GISAT-1 launch exposed the disconnect with user departments. The lid is now off as the termination of funding and projects by user departments and security agencies a couple of months ago has put a question mark on the continuity in service of about of 6000 engineers beyond March 2022 . According to available information, these enginners, working on adhoc basis, have got a temporary lease of life due to funding available from Government of India’s consolidated fund. In the meanwhile all ISRO launches have been put on the backburner and there is a strong likelihood that under the prevailing cicumstances, senior engineers and scienstists would be left with no option but to seek voluntary retirement.
>engineers are working on ad hoc basis

Absolute state of ISRO. Downfall of the ISRO is one of the biggest failure of this government, i have zero faith in the timeline of next year.

Only private players are our only hope.

Source,
Generally I don't believe Lalit Sastry, he is Burkha Dutt of Aerospace Journalists. But about ISRO, what he have said may be actually right, but we don't know. We will wait for further more information.

Crossposting from r/isro,
--------------------------------
COVID19 cases surge in SDSC-SHAR, fourteen new cases including two doctors and twelve employees. Delays in launch related activities is expected.

COVID19
Regional media reports suggests many Coronavirus cases have been detected in Sriharikota since December 2021 among staff and their family members. At least a 14 people are infected and being treated at home quarantine. SHAR officials issued special guidelines and tests are being conducted on the remaining employees.
Per reports, satellite launch scheduled to take place in the last week of this month, is likely to be postponed due to corona infection in employees and doctors.
Sources:
-------------------------
We lost 30+ people and thousands of people got covid at various isro facilities includings like of SDSC-SHAR, VSSC, suffered terribly.

Some of the comments by people who were working at SHAR suggest that there were like 3 ventilators for a group of 4000 people, absolute state of DoS.

This was from last year, second wave.

One of the most important institutions in the country and still no value to the people working there.

CY-3 already delayed from 2020 to 2023, this part is a bit uncertain because either K. Sivan f'd up or there was a retardation from the side of media.

ISRO targets Gaganyaan launch before Independence day, Chandrayaan 3 by mid-2023

“If you look at the immediate task at hand this year, we have many missions to execute. Some of these are launch of EOS-4 and EOS-6 on board PSLV. Launch of EOS-02 on board maiden flight of SSLV. Many test flights for Crew Escape System of Gaganyaan and Launch of the first unmanned mission of Gaganyaan. In addition, we also have Chandrayaan-03, Aditya Ll, XpoSat, IRNSS and technology demonstration missions with advanced indigenously developed technologies on-board,”

There is a directive to launch the first unmanned mission before the 75th anniversary of India’s independence (August 15, 2022) and all the stake-holders are putting their best effort to meet the schedule. I am sure that we will be able to meet this target, Sivan said in the letter.
Also there's some confusion in regards to CY-3 schedule. It's hilarious and astonishing that DRDO the agency responsible for way more strategic projects is so open than a civilian body like ISRO.

Here's another source, can't hear what he is saying but tweet says this,

The confusion is because of the letter by Sivan to the media. In that letter he mentioned CY-3 launch in mid of next year. My guess is that ,the letter was drafted last year and guy who did it might wrote it wrong.
I say let's wait until the annual report is out or atleast for the 1st launch this year.
