GISAT is geostationary satellite i.e, above 35000 km from earth surface that's why low resolution imagery. But the advantage of geostationary imagery satellite is that they are available at any given time.

It is a hyperspectral satellite, can scan resources, weather or presumably materials from space.

Border job is for CartoSats which have resolution in centimeters.

@Karthi @FalconSlayers
This sub-forum is named "Indian Space Program" and have different threads from RLV and human spaceflight. I suggest only keeping this thread for general news and not littering place with everything.

Instead we should have dedicated threads from evey spacecraft series and sticky threads for long endurance or high importance missions. Like one for GISAT?

I'm gonna create a couple of great threads tomorrow.

35 Space startups and industries are in consultation with ISRO for development of satellites, launch vehicles, develop applications, provide space based services: DrJitendra Singh

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that Government of India announced reforms for opening up the space sector to private entities by creation of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe) under the Department of Space. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today, he said, IN-SPACe will promote, handhold, regulate and authorize space activity by private sector which will result in enhanced private participation. This will also spur technological development and innovation within the country leading to self-reliance in the field of space technology, a step towards “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

Dr. Jitendra Singh informed that four student satellites were made ready with the support of ISRO. These satellites were successfully flown onboard PSLV-C51 on 28 February 2021. 35 space startups and industries are in consultation with ISRO for support related to various domains of space activity such as development of satellites, launch vehicles, develop applications, provide space based services etc.

The details of the achievements of the Department during the last three years is as follows:

Yeah DRDO really doing good work. ISRO need good and energetic chairman.
ISRO had a ban on many technologies acquisition. That is why ISRO developed by building their own. In case of DRDO, many lobbies were trying very hard to sabotage Indigenous effort. Import lobby in alliance with corrupt politicians harmed Indigenous efforts.

Rockets are assembled in explodable structures called Vehicle Assembly Buildings (VABs). At that time, India had just one operational and second was just given just for this purpose.

Obviously, ISRO already had components of both rockets stacked at once.

Simultaneous assembly of Vehicle in two different buildings took place.
Excellent Explanation. Thumbs up.
