The strategic potential of this is enormous....
============
The SSLV being developed by @isro can be assembled in 72 hours by a team of 3-4 people and will need nothing but a PC in even a living room to control and monitor the launch!

This is similar to Agni or Prithvi missile with the right size to launch satellites. I also had the same idea of using Agni-5 as satellite launcher by replacing the 1.5ton warhead with satellite

India, France to join hands for ISRO's manned mission Gaganyaan (https://english.manoramaonline.com/...-gaganyaan.amp.html?__twitter_impression=true)

Bengaluru: Scientists from India and France will work together for Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO’s) ambitious manned mission, Gaganyaan. To set the ball rolling, a joint working group will take shape to weigh the strengths of both sides and exchange of ideas.

Speaking at the 6th edition of Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX-2018) here today, Jean-Yues Le Gall, President, CNES (National Centre for Space Studies) - the French space agency –said the robust cooperation between ISRO and CNES will come handy for the Gaganyaan mission.

“India is becoming the hub of space missions. We have many technologies to offer for India’s human space programme, including on the space medicine front,” he said.

He said CNES would share their expertise in the fields of health monitoring of astronauts and radiation protection among others. Both the countries have announced a joint vision for space cooperation earlier and CNES will now explore options to work with Indian side.

However, ISRO officials said both countries have already many areas of cooperation and the latest French offer was in line with it.

“An MoU is a goodwill gesture and it cannot be taken as the final word. An MoU will set the formal talking process in motion. We would like to get the best experiences from the world so that our mission benefits the most,” an ISRO official told Onmanorama.

The official added that both countries have a long-standing relationship in the field of satellites, especially for weather forecast. “Among the many existing areas, France could step in and offer their expertise in new domains as well,” the official added.

As per the India-France Joint Vision for Space Cooperation of March 10, 2018, both nations will work on space science, technology and applications, including sounding rocket development, liquid engine development, hosting of payloads, joint satellite realization, training programmes, satellite communication experiment and satellite launches.

Both ISRO and CNES would also work on autonomous navigation of rovers in Moon, Mars and other planets in addition to embarking on complex high technology space science and planetary exploration missions in future.

Interestingly, Glavkosmos, a subsidiary of Roscosmos Russian Space Corporation, too has a presence at the expo with a wide range of applications and solutions on offer. The highlight of the Russian stall is the space food exhibit consisting of a variety of consumables for the astronauts, mostly in the paste form.

ISRO working on smaller launch vehicles to carry satellites of up to 700 kg

ISRO is working on building smaller launch vehicles that will carry satellites weighing 500 to 700 kg to up to 500 kilometres from the earth's surface, its chief, K Sivan, said Thursday.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the Bengaluru Space Expo 2018, a biennial event organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Sivan said the agency was planning to open incubation centres at six places in the country to encourage innovation and start-ups.

He said the academia and the industry are two strong pillars of the ISRO and urged the industry to come forward and share the agency's "load".

"The demand for small satellites is growing. Small satellites are going to be used for communication purposes in an enormous way. To catch up with the small satellites market, ISRO is in the process of developing a small satellite launcher," he said.

These satellites, Sivan added, would be of very repetitive nature and easier to produce.

The small launch vehicle will be different from the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), ISRO's trusted workhorse, and should take only 72 hours for integration, he said.

"We are working on small satellite launch vehicles. These will be able to launch a satellite of 500 to 700 kilograms in a range of 500 kilometre from Sriharikota (the Satish Dhawan Space Centre)," he said.

The ISRO will need 50-60 such vehicles every year, Sivan said, noting that the industry should come forward in this endeavour as over the next 3-4 years, the prime focus of the space research agency would be on the Gaganyan.

"We don't want to spend time on making these smaller vehicles. We want to give this to the industry and it should take part to make it more effective," he said.

He said out of the over Rs 10,000 crore announced by the Centre for 40 satellite launch vehicle programmes, Rs 9,000 crore would go to the industry for manufacturing them.

"The prime minister has approved 30 PSLV and 10 GSLV mark III. It costs Rs 10,400 crore. So, more than Rs 9,000 crore will be for the industry. In next three years, we are supposed to launch 59 satellites. So, it converts into two launches per month," Sivan said explaining the scope of work for the industry.

France to provide life support and medicine for ‘Gaganyaan’ Crew

The national human space mission ‘Gaganyaan’ will get French support in the form of life support and medicine for the Indian crew.

The French space agency CNES head Jean-Yves LeGall announced that an enabling agreement would be signed on Wednesday with his ISRO counterpart K. Sivan.

He was at the bi-annual Bengaluru Space Expo BSX 2018 which opened here on Thursday.

ISRO wants industry to drive the production of routine launch vehicles in two years, Dr. Sivan said on Thursday. “We are not satisfied with the current level of industry participation in the space programme. Our missions are growing at a fast pace, to almost two launches a month, from the current seven-odd a year,” he said, urging industry to take up bigger and independent roles in making satellites and launchers.

Giving a sense of the monetary returns to home industry, he said that of the ₹10,400 crore worth of launch vehicles approved a few months back, about ₹9000 crore will go to supplier industries in the coming years. Industry must gauge the benefits of investing in space in a big way, Dr. Sivan said.

As many as 59 satellites are due in three years. ISRO needs over a dozen light-lifting PSLV rockets to launch them — and wants industry to step in and relieve ISRO of this load, he said.

ISRO’s commercial arm Antrix Corporation’s CMD Rakesh Sasibhushan said the space industry was growing in double digits.

Mr. Le Gall said the two countries will add new applications such as drinking water resources to their old tie-up for climate satellite missions. Next year, CNES would have its Argos payload again on Oceansat-3. The 3-day BSX is hosted by ISRO, Antrix and CII.

If anybody has doubts regarding indian MIRV capability, the above should dispel any doubts once and for all.

Note the 2nd pic

These are civilian , military versions are more sophisticated and compact.
