farther reach & accuracy depends on the total no of sat & their orbits in a system, but gen 2 sats will have more life(may be) more power, new band (L1 band) for Mobile users,( gen1 sats didn't have it), Indigenous atomic clock, more redundancy than previous gen
with the launch of XpoSat, ISRO will be launching 3 dedicated space science missions within same year
Is it almost certain to go up in this calendar year? Also, if next week's GSLV Mk 2 is successful, we would have seen 4 successful missions using 4 different launch vehicles, in the space of 4 months- SSLV in Feb, LVM3 in March, PSLV in April, and GSLV Mk 2 in May. Speaks to some depth of Indian space programme!

TBH all our launch vehicles especially GSLV MK2/3 are quite inefficient wrt to other foreign vehicles. We have a long way to go. SCE and LOX engine(under development) will hopefully make us more efficient!!
We are way behind in space tech and the gap is only widening thanks to all these private companies. Let’s see how the ISRO-Japan moon mission collaboration works out. I think we need to be at $6 trillion+ GDP (upper middle income) to be able to afford a big R&D budget for space and other strategic technology. Let’s see.
