The backlogs have accumulated ever since launch frequency has fallen due to lower LV production due to lower subcontracting as a result of COVID. This anyway would be cleared once all 3 launch pads are ready, and additional VAB for TLB is operational.

No, this stage will work like a satellite/spacecraft itself for data collection. Better than sending a dedicated satellite, ISRO has been doing this since PSLV-DL & QL.

GSAT-24 successfully orbited by Ariane-5. Off the top of my head, this is the second heaviest satellite( 4180 kg) developed by ISRO, the largest being GSAT-11, which checked in at 5854kg.

Good job ISRO! Can we expect a report on the payloads attached to the 4th stage of the vehicle, in the next few hours or days? There are 6 of them, 2 from companies with innovative technologies.
