2 Rockets in 18-7-13

Gaza Terrorists Fire Two Rockets at Southern Israel

Terrorists from Hamas-controlled Gaza fired two Qassam rockets at southern Israel on Thursday evening

Shortly after 10:00 p.m., residents of the Eshkol Regional Council heard the "Red Alert" siren, before the rockets exploded in the region.

The two rockets exploded in open areas, causing no physical injuries or damages.

Several weeks ago, Gaza terrorists fired at least seven rockets on southern Israel, all of which exploded in open areas and did not cause any casualties.

In response, IDF aircraft attacked several terror targets in Gaza, including two weapons storage sites in central Gaza, as well as a rocket launching site and a center of terrorist activity in southern Gaza.

Two weeks ago, residents of Eilat reported hearing loud explosions in the city.

Security forces checked to determine whether the explosions were caused by Grad missiles and, after several hours of searching, police and the Home Front Command assessed the situation and gave the all clear for life in the city to return to normal.

The remains of a Grad missile were found near the city several days later.

John Kerry Announces Breakthrough in Mideast Peace Process - ABC News

Palestinian and Israeli officials have reached an agreement that forms the basis to begin direct peace negotiations after nearly three years, Secretary of State John Kerry said.

"This is a significant and welcome step forward," Kerry told reporters in Amman, Jordan, at the end of his week-long Middle East trip, where he shuttled between Jordan and the West Bank, meeting with Arab and Palestinian leaders.

Kerry did not visit Jerusalem on the trip, but President Obama spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday. The White House said Obama urged the Israelis "to resume negotiations with the Palestinians as soon as possible."

Both parties seem willing to move quickly on the next step. Kerry said Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat are expected to join him in Washington for more talks "in the next week or so," at which time further announcements will be made.

Kerry stressed that details about the agreement would be kept quiet, while also praising the leadership of Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Kerry said he will be the only one to speak publicly about progress made in the negotiations.

"All of us know that candid private conversations are the very best way to preserve the time and the space for progress and understanding when you face difficult, complicated issues such as Middle East peace," he said. "The best way to give these negotiations a chance is to keep them private."

In response to Kerry's comments, Palestinian presidency spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh issued a statement that "lengthy talks "¦ have resulted in the Palestinians accepting the resumption of talks."

The conservative Likud Party lawmaker Tzachi Hanegbi told Israeli radio earlier on Friday, "Israel can never return to the 1967 borders," but once the negotiations resume everything should be up for discussion.

"We reject Palestinian dictates as preconditions for being willing to hold a dialogue with us," Hanegbi said. He described the discussions as "the classic model of a tango."

"One step forward, two steps back," he added.

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Zev Elkin also told Israel Radio on Friday that "a negotiation in which you first say what you are willing to give up is not the kind of negotiation that leads to good results in the Middle East."

Still, both sides have praised Kerry's commitment to the Mideast process, a top priority since beginning his tenure as secretary of state, when he has made six trips to the region.

Direct negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians have occurred on and off for decades, and have been completely suspended for more nearly three years.

"Secretary Kerry has done a tremendous job in trying to put both sides together," Yair Lapid, the Israeli minister of finance, told The Associated Press. "Of course, Israel is more than willing and has expressed its agreement to go back to the negotiation table, but apparently it's going to take a little more time."

John Kerry saves the world « Hot Air
The article goes on to reinforce Ed's conclusion that the 1967 borders rumor was nothing more than a piece of media trolling to try to force Israel's hand. Netanyahu ruled that out by Thursday night, and it doesn't appear to be some form of stagecraft to establish a better initial bargaining position. So what is it, if anything, that John Kerry has actually accomplished here, and why are we hearing about it now?

In short, not much of anything. The Secretary of State's most recent press release seems to admit precisely that if you take the time to read through the blizzard of self-congratulatory and hopeful adjectives. "[An] agreement that establishes the basis for resuming direct final status negotiations?" That sounds more like something out of a Mel Brooks film than a breakthrough in a decades long, stagnant negotiation. Were one a bit more cynical, one might reword it to say, "We've definitely come up with an idea that both sides said they might think about as a way to agree on a time to have a phone call about resuming talks without immediately hanging up on each other."

Rocket Fire 21/7/2013

Gaza Terrorists Fire Rocket, No One Hurt

Gaza terrorists fired a rocket at southern Israel Sunday evening.

The rocket exploded in "an empty space" in the Eshkol region. No one was hurt and no damage was reported.

The "Color Red" siren sounded to alert local residents of the incoming rocket.

The IDF Spokesman told Arutz Sheva that security forces are combing the area.

An Iron Dome anti-missile battery was stationed near the city of Eilat last week, in anticipation of rocket fire on the tourist city at Israel's southern tip.

Recently read an article (i don't remmebr if it was outlook/india today) on andhra jews. A small community who claim that they are one of lost tribes of israel, who are now settled in andhra. Many centuries they were in persia once driven out of israel. From persia, it seems they came to kashmir before finally settleing in andhra. They are seeking recognition that they are israelites.

US envoy tasked with overseeing difficult Israeli-Palestinian peace talks
Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday appointed former U.S. ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk as the envoy tasked with shepherding the delicate Israeli-Palestinian peace talks
This time "all of the issues that are at the core of a permanent accord will be negotiated simultaneously," Silvan Shalom, a member of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netayahu's cabinet and rightist Likud party, told Israel's Army Radio.

The Palestinians, with international backing, want their future state to have borders approximating the boundaries of the West Bank, adjacent East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip before Israel captured them in the 1967 Middle East war.

Netanyahu had resisted Abbas's calls to accept the 1967 border formula before talks resumed. Israel deems all of Jerusalem its capital - a status rejected internationally - and wants to keep West Bank settlement blocs under any peace accord.

One Rocket fired and was Intercepted and Destroyed

Iron Dome Intercepts Rocket Fired Towards Eilat

At least one rocket was fired towards the Israeli resort city of Eilat on Monday night.

Sirens were heard throughout the city shortly before 1:00 a.m. Local residents reported hearing explosions following the sirens.

The Iron Dome anti-missile system, which was just recently deployed near Eilat, reportedly intercepted the rocket before it could explode in a populated area.

There were no reports of damages, but three people suffered shock. Two of them were treated by paramedics and the third was taken to the Yoseftal Hospital in the city.

The IDF and the police are searching the area to determine whether any rockets exploded inside the city, but so far have not located any remains of rockets.

Gaza Terrorists Fire Two Rockets at Israel

Terrorists from Hamas-controlled Gaza "thanked" Israel for releasing 26 terrorist murderers by firing two rockets at the southern part of the country on Tuesday night.

One rocket exploded in an open area near the city of Sderot. There were no physical injuries or damages.

Kol Yisrael radio reported that a second rocket exploded within Gaza.

Tuesday evening's attack took place as Israel released 26 terrorists as a "gesture" to the Palestinian Authority.

Some of the released terrorists are making their way to Gaza, but the Hamas government, which is against the talks in Gaza, has reportedly prohibited celebrations.

IAF launches early morning attack in response to Gaza rockets

The IDF launched an airstrike over the northern area of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning, targeting concealed rocket launching sites in northern Gaza, the IDF said in a statement

The statement said the IAF attacked during the night in response to two rockets that were fired from the Gaza Strip towards Sderot on Tuesday evening, just as Israel began the release of 26 Palestinian prisoners, 15 of them Gaza-bound.

"The IDF air strikes were conducted in response to the rockets launched at the civilians living in the Sha'ar HaNegev regional council yesterday (Tuesday) evening," it said.

The statement also said that Hamas, who are a known terrorist organization and the governing body of the Gaza Strip, are behind earlier rocket-fire, and the majority of terrorism emanating from the area.

The IDF vowed to "continue to operate in order to safeguard Israel's civilians, and combat terror and its infrastructure the in the Gaza Strip."

One of the rockets launched from within Gaza on Tuesday, fell within the Strip, while the other landed in an open field near Sderot. No one was reported injured.

Later Tuesday night, the Code Red rocket alarm was sounded again in Sderot, and in Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council, Israel Radio reported.

An IDF spokeswoman said searches were underway for the remains of the projectiles.

@SajeevJino Rockets/missiles being fired on israel is a year long process. Every year thousands of rocket get fired towards israel. Thing to note is, it has not resulted in lives being lost. Even if 5 people are killed, all these organisations know that the revenge will 10 times in scale.

So no need to panic each and everytime rockets are fired into israel.
