You are underestimating the impact of rape on women. Even today women commit suicide when they see no recourse for justice. In earlier times, it was not just one time rape but a prolonged rape, abuse and exploitation for a lifetime, if they were lucky enough to not be killed. Then comes psychological conditioning of "honour" for females in society. So yes, it's perfectly believable women would have commited suicide to escape rape and/or a life of misery.

I am fine if some women chose suicide. I respect their personal choice.. But, it was not all consensual.. Some where forced as well.. What I am not fine with is the mentality of many in the Hindu right,to glorify these episodes of suicide and even murder..

There is a battle recounted by Babar in his Diary: Babarnama, where Babar attacks a fort held by the Rajputs.. Rajputs on the verge of defeat, kill all their women by sword, before going to their final battle.. Now, I admire their courage, but am not OK with their killing of their women folk..

+ hamas has extensive tunnels under gaza , used to have tunnels into israel . large troop/equipment movement is probably hard to detect .

The African states have close come closer to a multi country war involving EU, US, Russia and China. Pakis and Taliban are going at each other for some time.
