Reported this back in April of this year:

They are accused of spying (for Israel) on a secretive programme to obtain information on Italian made, high-tech submarines coated with metamaterials that make their detection by adversaries difficult.

The name of the submarine builder is Fincantieri SpA, a Italy based shipbuilding firm. A total number of 2 submarines were placed on order.

Qatar wants to become first Arab state to own submarines. But their now got stalled.

Customers of espionage were Israel and automatically US.

That makes no sense. US or Israel can get that information directly from Italy instead of an elaborate spy network to get the information out of Qatar.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't they former naval officers, not currently in service? They are effectively private individuals with nothing to do with the interests of the Indian state. It makes no sense as to why our government would send our personnel to spy on Qatar for Israel. There is no alliance or treaty of sorts to warrant this. Maybe they were working for Israel itself.

Come on man.. Have some sense of proportionality.. A US base in India, for 8 of these expendables.. If the US is doing this in the hope of a US base in India, then these men are less than expendables.. They are dead men walking..
Nothing less than the Chinese waging war against India, will lead to a US base in India..

The timing of this is almost certainly related to Israel blow up, although have no idea what Qatar wants..


Maybe someone wants to know which side India is on if s*it blows up.. Neither China nor Russia can project meaningful military power in the middle east.. But India can..

India is a 500 pound gorilla, which Noone knows how it will react if oil tankers start blowing up.. So, looks like someone wants some clarity before pulling the trigger on this conflagration..

It’s quite simple. The sight of US citizens butchered/raped live on camera is the worst nightmare for Biden going into election year.
Hummus knows this and are playing smart. The Stockholm syndrome esque propaganda also working in their favor.

Having said that, if no decisive action is taken it will result in ‘death by 1000 cuts’ both to Israel and US in long term. Hence the hesitation.

hope he can do it? so far most of his handling of conflicts has been a failure?
