I honestly don't think so. According to WSJ, Hamas had been planning this attack for 2 years and at that time, I don't IMEC was even as a one-package project much like OBOR. It was most likely because Saudis were on the verge of normalising ties with Israel and following Saudi footsteps, many Islamic countries would've done the same. Besides, if they truly wanted to damage IMEC, they would've done it in a few more years when Saudis would've built the necessary infrastructure for IMEC to actually make them lose money. In my personal opinion, Saudis have backed out of this only temporarily and will come back in the medium term since MBS already knows that diversification of Saudi economy is critical to ensure that the kingdom would continue remaining wealthy in the post-oil era.

I have said this from day 1 on this thread that empire is almost naked and running on fumes, even its overburnt printing press can't make a difference anymore. But if they retreat here on out from ME, then they are done sooner. They still have power to win battles just not war, and sometimes battles do lead to victory against odds. Starting Clinton, US has been sabotaged with greed and globalists and I doubt its leadership is upto task. My point is, this absolutely wasn't carried out to SPECIFICALLY derail IMEC. If it was, they wouldn't have carried this attack now and instead would've waited for the Saudis/Emiratis/Jordanians to start constructing their infrastructure to ensure a massive loss or they would've directly attacked Haifa itself. All this suggests is that, China is distracting the world from a buildup in South China Sea.
