Confirms my observation. They've been concentrating way too much on just air power and elite counter terror units for the past 20 years, and neglected the mass ground equipment required for a large scale conventional war. They are not prepared for another 6 day war without the US directly coming in with its own tanks and troops.

For the past several years, especially after their war with Lebanon they realized even after putting in so much resources they destroyed a good percentage of Lebanon but couldn't do considerable harm to Hezbollah's fighting capabilities. And that is why they went for disproportionate response options such as airforce and special forces units. I still don't think they would go in for a full ground assault they know Hamas has been waiting for years for the IDF to do so, and the presence of excessive tunnel network (of which most would still be intact) and tonnes of rubble around it is a perfect situation for a defending guerrilla force.
