except no matter what the top leadership thinks, they can't simply follow the grand strategy of pakistan because for that you must deliberately keep your people stupid and breeding like rabbits. if iran loses men like ukraine, they will enter a demographic crisis. they can't rely on homegrown cheap(practical infinite) light infantry.they need near 3-4 TFR for that with a very high population base. however unlike Pakistan because of the education and relatively high tech base and production capacity of iran with a more competent administration than pakistan, they can run a covert and tech-focused support of their ideology abroad by providing rockets and drones made in iran, unlike pakistan which is completely foreign-owned and import-dependent. iran had to learn the hard way to maintain their military capability and manufacturing as they were sanctioned for decades and they actually have a base of people who are learned and can support these various endeavors when compared to the other arab states and kingdoms and the general muslim world.

Not sure if it’s that simple. US and JSOC know the location of about 95% of Paki nuclear facilities. And there are emergency plans to secure them if TTP or smth takes over the country or gets close to taking over a military base with nukes. But this is done with the assurance that they will return the nukes once the danger is passed. Also, the remaining 5% will end up in the hands of jihadies if the country destabilizes. There has to be a reason for US to destroy the 95% that they are aware of, as this would piss off china, turkey and saudi quite badly. Although destruction of Iranian nukes would ease the saudi and turkey concerns quite a bit.

So you're saying in an all out war, US will do everything it can to eliminate a potential threat to Israel, even destroying Paki nukes with all of the potential consequences? Could be possible, but Pak might go on a suicide drive and try to take india down with it.
