A lot of discussions in the leftist media on how Israel is breaking international laws, sovereignty, Geneva convention etc etc. Basically Hamas killed thousands of Israelis and Israel has the right to defend themselves as long as it is "proportional" and avoids civilian casualties. That means Hamas will hide now and resurface to cause mayhem when the time is right, maybe in another 6 months. The vicious cycle repeats again.

All of these laws made sense when they were crafted after WW2. That was a different warfare with two armies facing each other. But now we are dealing with savage terrorists and these laws have absolutely no practical meaning.

Besides who enforces these international laws when the US or Russians or Chinese are the ones breaking them?

Tbh it's only US that can get away and increasingly China. As we saw with the world's response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russia kind of has to play by the same rules as everyone else now. Chinks becoming the lifeblood of western economies was a smart move.
