Israel, i am afraid, is living on borrowed time. They either have to become 4x-5x their current size both in land and population or prepare for a day when the barbarians from all sides will be at the gate. I think in another 50-75 yrs we will see Israel seize to exist unless something dramatically changes in the ME. As US weakens internally, so will be its will to support Israel.

Israel has known this since its inception. US didn't support them fully till after 1967 war, yet they won those. So while US no doubt is hugely important to them, deep down they haven't relegated everything to US support. And even then they know that it could happen that their existence comes under danger any moment. Hence the nukes and Samson option. If ever the day comes when Israel ceases to exist, it will take the world with it. Definitely the middle east will be gone.
