Reality is ground operation in Gaza is not realistic. Military operations cannot be a knee-jerk reaction. At max surface level probing CT operations will take place.

Hamas & Iran has been planning this for few years now. They anticipated this to happen, a and are fully prepared to take on IDF in Gaza. Reason USA is insisting on going slow on ground operation.

It's only knee jerk if it wasn't planned beforehand. Terror attack may have been an unexpected trigger but I doubt Israel doesn't draw up plans every year to invade Gaza. Or Lebanon for that matter.

Jordan is overrun by Failastine refugees to the extent they now constitute the majority of the population- there is quite a bit of resentment on the ground against refugees so I expect Jordanians to continue 'kadi ninda' but keep the borders firmly shut. Same applies to Egypt which additionally receives a major chunk of its gas supplies from Israel and, given its current bankrupt state and the fact cheap gas and fuel (cheaper even than all the ME petrocracies) is what's keeping the rabidly jihaadi population quiet, Egypt cannot afford to antagonise Israel too much- although the Israelis are being blamed for the closure of the Rafah crossing, I've no doubt the Egyptians are in no hurry to open it themselves.
