Why use known Airports when you can use make shift runways, air drop, land border and waterways to smuggle. Also you can't stop all the weapons reaching to Syria and Lebanon. Hell you couldn't even stop them getting into West Bank and Gaza.

I don't think they bombed the airport to stop weapons. I think they are making the airport unserviceable so that a certain someone (VIP) can't land in Syria.

Coming to this attack, the Egyptians say they warned Israel something was on the way. Other than that, the fact that the attackers were able to invade entire military bases so easily is suspect.

I'm not a military guy, but I opened a map indicating the presence of different forces in Syria, and my conclusion is that that the two US aircraft will not be really useful, I can only imagine a bloodbath on the ground.

If the US wants to use their aircraft carrier and send missiles and fighter jets from their in to Lebanon , GrandPa Jo needs to lick Uncle Vlad's ball, i.e de-conflict (whatever the correct military terminology) the zone with Russian forces in Syria.

Layoff the conspiracy theories, it is old story now that Bush in his daily briefings on security was told that "Al Qaeda was determined to strike the US", such warnings serve no real use because ofcourse Al Qaeda was determined to strike US just as Hamas was/is/and always will be determined to attack Israel !

The Mehdar story is old and well worn. The expansive and detailed 9/11 commission report went to lengths highlighting the shortcomings of intelligence sharing between alphabet soup departments, this is also why DHS was formed by the Bush administration. Many things have changed since and despite extra scrutiny, loss of certain civil liberties and some aspects of ease of life, US has since been safe from such attacks.

Egypt warning Israel that "Hamas is planning something big" would be similar to the warnings on Al Qaeda or Indian Govt receiving intelligence from US prior to 26/11 that "something's brewing!". Without specifics and actionable intelligence, it just ends up being noise. As the saying goes the terrorists only have to win once but the security agencies will have to win everyday, all the time. Hamas attacked from air, sea, land, blew through the fence at six different places and entered in thousands. They picked soft targets, the music rave and the kibbutz is where majority of the casualties occurred. There are many videos from Oct 7 where you can see Israeli forces engage and eliminate terrorists, so not much time was lost but the damage was done.

Israel will learn from these attacks just the way US did after 9/11 and take precautions. I have said this before and i'll say it again that extreme religious fanatics in Israel are making lives difficult by constantly expanding settlements, it becomes harder and harder to put a buffer. I also just learnt that this wasn't the first time terrorists have used gliders, they had used such methods way back in the 80s and 90s too!

As always, the simplest explanations to events are almost always the most probable.

That's a grand move which India will not take for few reason, first one has to be suicidal and dumb to trust US and West and pick enemity with near by countries that we have no direct major issues. Siding with arabs means India lost its chips to hedge. 2nd is more shameful one which is India will not even dare to take POK if a golden chance comes along, thats how decisive we are....this has not changed with Mudiji and no one broke the Indira Gandhi's record on having the iron balls yet. 3rd, I doubt our production rates exceed our needs at all....
