Even without an active attack, they'll die of hunger and no water. Within weeks we'll see them eat their own children out of the bajillion they have. Option 1 seems more realistic despite Israel being the much superior force.
Escalating this with Hezbollah and indirectly Iran would be a nightmare for US with the Ukr crisis and going into an election year.
They can defang Hamas with the initial invasion, withdraw and still continue to put pressure by choking the essential commodity supplies while also trying to engineer a refugee migration to Egypt etc.
