This seems like a obvious solution to me , Siliguri corridor is about 40-50km wide wedged between Nepal and Bangladesh.

A tunnel from WB to Sikkim to NE Seems to negate Chinese invasion on bottle neck points

If if tunnel from Bihar Assam we can reach edges of siliguri by 60-90km long tunnel . That's long but doable since there are tunnels 70km long

As long as we can keep the military bases there it will always be secure with uninterrupted supply chain.

What's the purpose of it ???
If Chicken neck falls, so does the tunnels, We'll go through BD for Supply if needed.
If you're worried about Chinese artilleries disturbing the Supplies, Yes tunnels does make sense.

this is where the chinese laugh at us. if there's a will, i think we can do it...but as usual we'll worry about the cost
You can build it ,but then comes it's real requirement in war , but then bunker buster will trigger landslide .

Also Chinese do lot of things to fill up their egoistic ass , results are a loss making hsr , a highly problematic real state ,not every time you do things to fullfill your ego

If a major war breaks out we should simply annex a good portion of Bangladeshi land adjoining the Chicken's Neck and probably offer Bangladesh equivalent amount of land elsewhere. I would expect that our intelligence agencies will be paying special attention to those parts of Bangladesh near the CN(Chicken's Neck). Maybe we can get the population there to secede from Bangladesh and join India voluntarily.

An underground tunnel is a good idea if technically feasible and not too costly. Destroying such reinforced and deep structures will maybe require use of nuclear weapons. Conventional explosives may not work. Usually hardened silos for storing and launching nuclear tipped missiles are immune to attack by conventional explosives. Special earth penetrating nuclear warheads are used. I believe that the US has already designed such niche warheads. Don't know about Russia.

No. The demographics won't allow. In fact 20 years from now significant parts of eastern WB and lower assam might face an insurgency to separate away. Hasina won't remain in power forever and BD govt + establishment turning full jihadi is what we should expect and plan for. Anything else is a welcome deviance.

Bhutan's foreign policy is anyway guided by india. IMO the medium term solution IMO is to turn Bhutan into an Indian state. Will give the Indian troops more border area to militarize properly without a 3rd country's intervention.

Long term we should look at actively changing demographics in BD in our favour and also unhook Tibet from the CCP. The latter can only happen post WW3.

The best thing that can happen though is if the CCP collapses like the USSR.

The only point of concern in Siliguri corridor is the region of Doklam btw Bhutan and BD and not the portion btw Nepal and BD.

The chinese have to cross Nepal to attempt such invasion. Bombing is an possibility. But even in that case, we can use Nepal's territory for movement. We have an Friendship treaty with them and even they can't do anything if the Chinese are the aggressors.

We have ample space and soldiers on the Doklam region. BD is not going to give access in times of war. But we would have to fly over them to move in troops for sure. Our soldiers can't fight China and BD and Pakistan at the same time. Not to mention most of BD territory is marshland.

Rather, it will be a better solution to make chicken neck thicker by integrating Bhutan with India and swap some area of northen BD with India.
