its a old and a forgotten project.
this was completed 5 yrs ago.
this was even rejected by army also.
its cross version of BMP-II & M113.
This was built at Thiruchy OFB.

DRDO is developing futuristic Infantry Tank - Arjun at Heavy Vehicle Factory Combat Vehicle (ICV) ‘ABHAY’ as a Short Range Battlefield Surveillance Radar (HVF) is in progress. Meanwhile the pre-technology demonstrator for replacement of BMP-II vehicles which are presently in Service. Development of first Mild Steel (MS) prototype has been completed. This is presently under extensive testing for proving of automotive systems. Development of first armoured prototype is also in progress.

Is 40mm Main Gun ARDE design or imported from GIAT or someone else?

Same 40mm L70 gun manufactured at OFB, On the Vehicle it is mounted upside down..

Hell of Infantry support / combat vehicle if it was commissioned, It is also an APC..

Even at that stage it was a million times better than of BMP-2..

The Vehicle was design as per Army needs, And only thing imported was the engine and transmission, rest was originate from India..

What abhya was in 2009 now BMP-2 is becoming with upgrades but minus the Armour protection and electronic so does firepower..
