I tried to figure it out based on the sole measurement of IAC-II that we have: displacement of 65,000 tons. And the result I arrived at was IAC-II would have 3 catapults.
Compare IAC-II displacement to Forrestal class super carriers (60,000 tons displacement as per Wiki, which is most likely wrong). Wiki further says that in 1990s, Forrestal had a typical air wing comprising of:-
That makes a total of 54 Aircraft comparable to AMCA in MTOW. (AMCA 'cause AMCA will most likely be inducted in Air Force around the same time as IAC-II gets inducted in Navy)

- 36 F/A-18 Hornet
- 4 EA-6B Prowler
- 4 E-2C Hawkeye
- 8 S-3/ES-3 Viking
- 3 SH-60F Seahawk

Compare IAC-II displacement to Charles De Gaulle (40,000 tons). Charles has two catapults and an air wing comprising:-
Compare that to PA2 which was a proposed French carrier with 75,000 tons displacement. It looks like it had two catapults and a total air wing of only 40 aircraft (again as per Wiki).

Now I think it might possible to fit three catapults on the deck of IAC-II for better sortie generation rates. I think that the 55 aircraft is a bit low. Even so, a possible carrier air wing can be:-

- 2 E-2D Hawkeye / Netra on enlarged Saras with HTSE-1200 as AEW&CS

- 8 Seahawk helicopters / 8 HAL IMRH (SAR, transport and ASW roles)
- Carrier onboard delivery can be done with Seaplanes, can't it?
By the time IAC-II gets inducted into service, PLAN will have a Type 002 carrier (analogous to Kitty Hawk class) and a Type 003 carrier (analogous to Nimitz class). A short while after that, PLAN might start sending a carrier battle group based on its Type 002 carrier and guarded by two Type 055 cruisers and four Type-52D destroyers into the Indian ocean biennially. We need to ensure that we have IAC-II ready to shadow their every move.
