I have doubt on the carrying capacity of mig-29k
I read somewhere that su-30mki will carry three brahmos-ng and is capable of carrying only one heavy Brahmos as we see in videos as of now.
All other aircrafts like mig-29,mirrage, rafale will carry one brahmos-ng.
Reported weight of BRAHMOS NG is 1.5 tons. Even if it comes to 2tons, Mig 29K with its 5.5 ton payload capacity would be able to carry 2 of these.

MiG29K can carry only 4ton payload if it has to take off from Vikramaditya. The 5.5 ton payload is max payload and only when the runway is long.

About Brahmos, carrying 1.5ton to 2ton missile + pylon in a single hardpoint is not easy. The overall payload may be 5.5 ton, but none of the hardpoints have an individual capacity of 1.5-2ton. The indivicual capacity is limited to less than 1.5ton almost always

On ski-jump of indigenous aircraft carrier, IAC-1with Warship Overseer Cmde Cyril. Inspiring to see giant vessel of great complexity, taking shape; with Indian ingenuity defying all odds. Like Arihant, Navy shows the way, yet again; how to "Make in India". Sea trials by 2020?

What is the relevance between F18 and CATOBAR? Is F18 having some patent over usage of CATOBAR? Why can't Indian plane like AMCA be used from CATOBAR? CATOBAR can be used to launch any plane. Even Tejas MK2 can be modified to be used in CATOBAR

Take a look at MiG-29K, it can't withstand the pounding of hard deck landings so it is always in maintenance. Rafale M and Super Hornets are already rated and proven for such abuse by having reinforced airframes and high shock absorbing landing gear.

It does not matter if any plane is proven or not. What matters is which plane satisfies the objective rightly. Since the aircraft carrier is being planned for 2030, there is no logic in using F18 or Rafale when Tejas MK2 will be ready by then. Tejas Mk1 is already being used as test platform to perfect the naval role. The hardest part in naval operation is the landing rather than takeoff. Especially with CATOBAR, take off will be quite easy. So, the Tejas MK2 which is fit to be flown in STOBAR can be easily modified to be flown from CATOBAR

Of course it matters if it is proven, otherwise you could claim anything like MK2 will be ready on time. We all know it won't so stop pretending.

There is no magic needed for MK2 to be completed by 2030. So there is no point speaking of F18 or Rafale when the IAC-2 has not even started to be constructed. Tejas MK1 Navy has already completed successful trial from STOBAR and successful arresting recovery. So, the naval adaptation technology is already available in India. Only thing awaited is MK2 plane which is already in prototyping stage

There is no point of speaking of foreign acquisitions ever. Indian PSUs make everything on time and is fully indigenous in all of its capabilities. The days of importing 70% of defence products is suddenly over because you say it is. Even the Make in India components have fallen from 48% to 40% in the last four years while total dependence grows. It is time to take it private.

India uses 70% of foreign designed items but not necessarily imported. India makes several things like T90, Su30 etc in India itself though they are of RuaaiRu origin. So, simply saying that India imports 60%-70% is incorrect. Currently, Rafale imports have appeared to have bumped up imports but they are still only strategic decision, not something that is a compulsion

#BREAKING Indigenous carrier INS Vikrant likely to be based in Visakhapatnam

India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, currently being built at the Cochin Shipyard Limited, is likely to be based at Visakhapatnam, the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command to add to its effectiveness when it is commissioned, a top military commander said on Wednesday.

“In tandem with the growth of the Indian economy, I see the Eastern Fleet will be more capable. We should be having more capable assets. Hopefully, the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) will be based in Visakhapatnam and it should be operating as part of the Eastern Fleet in 2023, if all goes well,” its Flag Officer Commanding (FOCEF), Rear Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi told reporters here.

The interaction aboard the indigenously-built INS Sumeda partol vessel took place as part of the ongoing Navy Week celebrations.

“We should take pride that India is one five countries (the others being the US, the UK, France and Russia) with the capability to design and build an aircraft carrier. Its construction is on course. We should start sea trials by 2020,” Tripathi said.

He said Indian Navy’s aim is to secure national interests, provide maritime, coastal and offshore security and also ensure safe and secured seas by assisting friendly countries in any contingency.

According to Tripathi, the Eastern Fleet has grown in strength and capability over the years and now operates some of the most modern warships, which include the Shivalik class stealth frigates and the Kamorta class anti-submarine corvettes.

Asked about the presence of the PLA Navy in the Indian Ocean Region and China’s military rise, he said: “Every country has got a right to do what is required for its national security. We respect all that what has been done by any countries to secure their national interest. We are monitoring the presence of all that what is happening in our area.”

INS Sumeda and the corvette INS Kirch are presently docked here as part of the ongoing Navy Day celebrations.
