India’s Nuclear Submarine Adventure Begins Anew

The critics have argued that at a time when the US already has ninth generation nuclear-powered submarines, Russian nuclear submarine technology of first and second generation vintage offers little strategic heft to India. Nonetheless, there is a symbolism attached to being able to operate a nuclear submarine and the acquisition of the Akula-II class nuclear attack submarine is bound to raise the Indian Navy's profile in the region and beyond.

4)the down 4 are Torpedo tubes, and some missiles like Klub-S can also be launched from this tubes......
3)the upper four are Torpedo loading bays.......
1) towed array sonar
2) its just like a hangar, its used tie the boats when in dock...

Its a Foxtrat Submarine, not HDW, as HDW never came to Vishakapatnam,
HDW's mother port is Mazgoan Dock yard,....
but never knew Foxtrat Submarines are longer then Kilo!!!!
I dont know much about that but the if you click the picture the link will say Indian_HDW_naval_vessel.

here are other HDW subs and its species

now lets get back to topic at hand.

Navies have evolved. Is the Nerpa a ballistic missile submarine? Obviously, the missiles do not come with the Nerpa. I do not think, India can fit ballistic missiles on the leased submarine. So, in any conflict, it will act in anti-ship activities. The Americans have high tech submarine vessels. The submarines themselves have not evolved a lot. The weapon systems and the power plants have evolved. After the Second World War, the German designs were adopted by both the Soviet Union, and the United States. I wonder, can the submarine change in shape? Ships, have not changed much too. India is very good in carring forward ideas, thought out by others. I think India makes the biggest stealth warships in the world. No nation except India builds stealth Destroyers.
