The VB project confuses me so much.

(I’ll leave aside the truly ret@rded decision To allow sanctioned Russian entities to take part and predatorily undercut all Indian partners)

ICF said a few days ago they’ll be rolling out the sleeper prototype in 2024 (probably before the election) but they’ve got 0 orders for it

then there’s the RVNL VB contract (120 units), the Medha contract (80 units) and now the alstom sleeper/seat contract (100) and still more to be awarded

The kicker here is all have the option to use the original ICF design or their own and this is before we even talk about the VB-SHSR that’s under design

The only explanation is that train 20 that was talked about has turned into this alstom deal

This accident is just the derivative of Indian quality control.
Shit roads, shit railways, shit infra.
I don't wanna be defensive about railway minister but I feel this will definitely push him towards resignation
He is a good minister though but let's see how much it dents its career
He might have the faith of suresh prabhu

Nexus: Jewar Aerocity

Nexus @ NIA has created a timeless iconic Airport City designed to inspire the Indian intellect. Designed as a mixed-use master plan with connectivity at its core, Nexus @ NIA is set to become the first Net Zero Airport City across India.

The Great Park is designed to create a vibrant and sustainable Airport City, with a mixed-use community fostering a synergy between public / private enterprise. The master plan is separated into three sectors from the west along the Yamuna Expressway, terminating at the garden forecourts to Terminals 1 and 2. The Great Park spans across all sectors seamlessly stitching the Airport City together creating a grand landscaped promenade bringing millions of passengers annually to the Noida International Airport.

Sector 1 is the gateway leading into the Airport City containing a mixed-use program including office, retail, hotels, residential, healthcare, a metro station, and a MICE facility with direct connectivity to the airport. Sector 2 is centrally located with a mixed-use aviation focused commercial and residential program. Sector 3 plays a crucial role within the Airport City with an airport focused program including hotels, retail, conferencing facilities, the ground transportation center, parking, and the terminus station to the Noida Metro. The vision for Sectors 1 to 3 is that they become a vibrant livable city offering opportunities for people to live, work, play, shop, learn and innovate close to each other with direct connectivity throughout the Airport City.

Any idea of his expensive our metros are compared to China?
Chinese metro construction costs are incredibly cheap when you convert them to PPP terms. This twitter user does a very good job collating them. Our own costs are pretty good (much lower than Bangladesh, Indonesia for example). Fully elevated lines including stations and rolling stock cost around $50-150 million per km

The design looks much nicer than the airport itself. Why did they choose such an uninspiring design for the terminal when it will be indias biggest in the future

Ya'll Nibbiars The Mumbai Metro 3 CSMT station is shaping up perfectly to complement the neighbouring landmarks. Here's a glimpse of the station work in progress.

Of course we'll get different trainsets.

Alstom ones will be made of aluminium and have sleeper coaches also. Everything from bogie to design will be different.

As for RVNL-TMH, they'll use existing VB design but with different interiors. Titagarh/BHEL haven't confirmed anything yet.
