It took 18 years for KaHPS to be make functional. But never the less it fructify when everyone involved lost hope.
NEEPCO alone generates 1115 MW of power from 3 projects in AP which makes it a power surplus state in India. Next year Lower Subansiri project would most probably come online with 2000 MW. Now waiting for the mother of all Dibang hydro plant clearance which alone would produce 2880 MW.

Many dam projects are being undertaken in NE region which vested interest groups kept delaying . These states going to earn lots of money . That lower subansiri project is running on a 8 year delay and 3 times the cost due to protest .

Here 1 month back common people of sikkim are protesting for early completion of testa project , which has been delayed thanx to communist and environmentalists .

Central should slow down development in West Bengal until Mamata changes her stance. She should not be rewarded at all.

Another one. Pajeet construction companies should be completely banned from building roads. Let the government pick 1 or 2 big local companies who can actually build roads with proper standards, and let foreign companies take the rest. Gadkari is hell bent on replacing the term "tofu-dreg" with pajeet-dreg. At least the chinks build a 100 proper bridges for every 1 that collapses.

Whenever I look at such videos, i wonder what the hell are people in the various road agencies even doing. And how is it that India's road building quality is not improving at all. Every week there is a basic viaduct collapsing, and most of them are due to shit materials and poor construction standards used.

The Yamuna Expressway industrial development authority (Yeida) along with the Gautam Budh Nagar district administration will rejuvenate at least 116 ponds, which are in a bad shape due to encroachments along 165km Yamuna Expressway, authority officials said on Monday.

The move comes after instructions from the Uttar Pradesh government to revive them at the earliest, sources added. Earlier, the state government had directed the Noida authority to identify and rejuvenate ponds in order to recharge the groundwater table during the rainy season, officials added.

“We have directed the land department to profile the 116 ponds properly so that we can start the rejuvenation process of these waterbodies. The land department will coordinate with the administration to carry out the rejuvenation work,” said Arun Vir Singh, chief executive officer (CEO), Yeida.

The Yeida controls 96 villages in which it has identified land for planned development along the Yamuna Expressway that connects Greater Noida with Agra. The ponds are located in these 96 villages that fall in Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts.

The Yeida has also notified around 250,000 hectares of land for the planned development along Yamuna Expressway, out of which around 20,000 hectares have been already acquired, an authority official said.

The ponds have been dying a slow death because groundwater is depleting very fast in the region due to infrastructural works. Some of these ponds have been encroached upon and almost all have depleted water level, said officials.

“We have directed the land department that if needed, they can take help from the district administration and remove all encroachments to rejuvenate the waterbodies. We will also try to engage villagers in the process so that the ponds stay free of encroachments in the future,” CEO Singh added.

Accelerating the logistics revolution in the state, a mega logistical hub is slated to come up at Kanpur for cargo handling.
It would be the fourth logistical hub in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Kanpur will be developed by the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a wholly owned company of Ministry of Railways.
The other three logistics hub are coming up at Dadri, including one developed by Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and two to be developed by National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation and Adani Group.
Kanpur MMLP
The Kanpur MMLP will come up at New Kanpur Station along the EDFC corridor.
The Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) from Ludhiana to Sonnagar (1,337 km) is one of the two freight corridors being developed by the Indian Railways for the exclusive movement of goods trains at a high speed.

Plan of Kanpur MMLP

DFCCIL has procured 70-hectare land in Hathipur, Maharajpura and Tilsaharibujurg villages in Kanpur Nagar for constructing the logistics hub.
The hub which is being developed under ‘Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal (GCT) ‘policy of Railways will handle 15 million goods annually.
It is expected that the integrated logistics facility at Kanpur would help in reducing the overall logistics cost in the supply chain for the customer.
This would be achieved by leveraging the modern, efficient, high capacity rail connectivity of the DFCs capable of meeting sensitive freight transportation requirement.
The logistic hub at Kanpur will also boost the UP government's one district one product initiative.
Reducing Logistics Cost
The MMLPs come equipped with inter-modal connectivity and inter-modal freight handling, warehouses, cold storages, custom bonded area and support facilities.
As such, they provide one stop solution and reduce transportation costs, inventory handling costs and substantially resolve inefficiencies present in the logistics ecosystem.
By serving as logistics hubs, MMLPs are expected to enable a shift in logistics network from traditional point to point to hub and spoke model.
In a hub and spoke model, MMLPs act as centralised hubs for receipt and dispatch of goods to and from smaller locations called spokes.
Goods from companies (spokes) are collected at MMLPs (hub) transported over long distances to destination location through larger trucks/trains.
At destination, another hub MMLP receives goods and sends them out to various nearby locations (the spokes) for consumption.

They are building fast but without the proper machines as machines means energy and they have to pay for it. So clearly where 2 or machines are needed to setup these panels and stress test, they are just using maybe 1 machine to set these panels up. This is the problem I have with this ramp technique:
- they build these walls first and then throw mud and sand in there to fill it up. And then roads are laid on top. But when large vehicles drive on these roads, the weight of the load pushes the sand downward and it tries to expand and pushes these walls outwards. So if the side panels are not firmly put in place to withstand that pressure, they will bulge out like it is happening here. So the entire load assessment, the way side panels are set up etc all seem to be misengineered. Clearly there is a problem with lack of technical knowledge or we are using some outdated ramp building technologies.
