I'm happy that some part of the filth in Bellandur lake is getting washed away... small silver lining.
It ain't getting "washed away" anywhere ... but only to the neighbourhood gated community basement. Since all storm water drains have been filled, and covered into premium mega plots and "lake-facing" apartments ... where they just stagnate ...

And no.. these aren't ayyapa swamis going to sabarimala ... they just bought multi crore "heavens" in the "venice of the east"...

Don't compare with Japan pls i consider them the top 3 greatest country they don't construct more bcs they don't need it they still have bullet trains and such
Most of Japan simping is done by us Indians only. They did good initially with HSR system in 60s but they did not have good success internationally.
The lines they laid in other countries are getting replaced with European and Chinese ones. Their system is not that well suited for most other countries and it is too much customized to Japanese needs.

Their system did not work well in Taiwan and in China both (China had E2 Shinkansen in their first route). Both got replaced with European HSR.

The Brits constructued excellent infra for their own need and to answer the Crown and Investors. They needed good roads and rails to loot us.

Today our politicians have no one to answer except their own ill-gotten mount of wealth

Meanwhile this is where Tejas gets built ... :dude:

maybe the solution is no longer in political domain.
was just checking BBMP annual revenue, it's just about 10,000 crores. not at all sufficient to find any meaningful engineering solution.
relaying sections of mumbai roads with one foot concrete at the bottom cost more than 30 thousand crores and three years time. BMC revenue is around 30 thousand crores.

Reason for bengaluru rains

Yeah but who cares, Media spreads fake news for their TRP and people swallow it

No matter who comes to power, bengaluru won't change.

solution: BBMP must consult experts and do something about water logging but that's not going to happen either.

in contrast to other Indian cities, there is another layer in bangalore which has veto powers over such big projects, the "intellectual civil society" crowd.

last time the same crowd made sure a bridge didn't get built. folks like infosys narayan murthy are part of this crowd.

Govt may order mandatory redevelopment of Delhi areas
Ok but what about architectural plans? Can we please construct buildings that will withstand the test of time? People not only today will want to live in them, but also in 50 years? 100 years? 1000 years?

I won’t care that much about architecture, there are a lot of places that need redevelopment as they’re getting older and older. Old Delhi is one. Needs heavy redevelopment.

Electronic City in Bengaluru is India’s first IT hub. Almost 35 years old. No flooding, no water logging here. Excellent civic amenities management by autonomous ELCITA. Perhaps the only dry IT area in entire city. So-called IT corridor built in the last 25 years is under water.

Saw many tweets about new buildings owned by politicians.
