"A report by Bank of America Securities India on Wednesday said the country is on course to build more national highways and rail lines during the decade ending 2025 than it has cumulatively done between 1950 and 2015."

What significance thus Bank of America?

Still nowhere close to what is achieved on Japanese railways or Chinese railways. You could stand up a penny and it won't fall. Here you can see the water vibrating quite a bit.
This train runs on existing tracks ,quality of those let’s say not upto high speed track found in Japan or china or anywhere else.

Man, you are comparing the CSR and Shinkansen which have better ride quality index and infrastructure to support high speed (Continous Rail compared to disjoint one we use).

Kindly watch recent interview of our Railway minister who has given the future plan for Trains.

First understand our Railway coaches.

ICF >>>> LHB >>>>>>>> T18 Gen 1.0 >>>>>>>> T18 Gen 2.0 >>>>>> T18 Gen 3 >>>>>>> TBD

We are in 4th stage and have improved the ride index significantly and coming years we are going to have Articulated bogies with much improved ride index compared to Gen 2.

Stop comparing for the sake of comparing.

I know that. Still we should compare to see how far we are going. See, right now the best thing is the Train 18. So that's the comparison. When the bullet train comes online, we can compare and see what the ride quality index is.

Why compare? To see how far we have come and how much we need to go and what we have to do to stay ahead of the game.

Sorry. It was a reactionary comment. Please forgive
Forgiven but you shouldn't think that way. I am happy that we got the Train 18. But we still got ways to go. Remember Japan came out with this type of train back in 1959. We are 63 years later and we still haven't got a bullet train fully built yet and China has the hugest and fastest train system in the world and their ride quality is very good. We cannot rest on our laurels until we beat them.

Yes I am happy but at the same time, I have this realization how far we are behind China and Japan.

Comparisons are always important make us understand where we are in the world
Or else all indians are going to have the mentality of Bilal9
We in our minds would be asian tigers while in reality being chaddi sniffers
We need comparisons with a better riavl to know where we stand and not getting complacent
