Those buildings look outdated they should be demolished to make new ones mumbai is not earthquake prone so tall buildings can be built like dubai
tall buildings will solve the problem of slums because it will reduce the land price making a new planned city can also solve the problem of slums
Ya'll Nibbiars we are living in a free market and not socialist economy. The decision is of the society owners. Not outsiders.

And their condition are much better than the new buildings.

Informative video about Skyscraper boom Ending in China:

Banned buildings over 500mtr.

Banned buildings over 250 mtr in cities with less then 3 Million population.

Even after decades of constructions most Super Skyscrapers are not even half full.

Update:
Building higher than 150 mtr will not be allowed now in cities with less than 3 million population.
and Other bigger cities no longer can build more than 250 mtr tall ones.

NCR areas of UP already get in-migration. Northern UP - the Saharanpur belt is full of low paying sugar mills and agriculture. So no one is going there yet. Bundelkhand is very backwards and needs that defence corridor to get going to attract jobs. Lucknow has IT and Kanpur has exports industry - so good chances other state talent is in there. Purvanchal has a good chance of developing and attracting talent from other states as there is decent infrastructure being built plus good universities like IT-Bhu to drive entrepreneurship and for IT and other jobs. The big issue in most of UP is low skilled labor and relatively low human development for white collar, professional jobs but all the new infrastructure will change all of that. I also think UP’s tourism revenues are going to rocket and bring in thousands of decent paying jobs.

This is what happens when you want to show excess GDP by mindless constructions. 50% of China’s gdp comes from such construction sector and 50% of that is excess. That is why I always put a 30% discount on Chinese data to arrive at the real, productive GDP.

Connectivity with Kolkata port is most important
Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor , Various Expressways in Bihar and Jharkhand going towards Kolkata in Bengal , National Waterway One and The Delhi-Kolkata High Speed Rail Corridor can break the landlock of UP to a great extent
Though in my opinion it was better if they planned a single 12 lane expressway from Delhi to Kolkata via Lucknow and Patna
Just like the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway which is passing via Jaipur and Ahmedabad

That is true, specially since the labor cost in those states (UP,Bihar and West Bengal ) is low, provides great opportunity for labor intensive , low end manufacturing like clothes, shoes, toys, etc. However the biggest hurdle for labor intensive manufacturing currently is the stupid labor laws. Hopefully state governments fix those at state level because we have seen such changes at national level are too difficult to get done.

Waste Bengal cannot get land acquisition done for Kolkata port connectivity. It would be better to connect to a new port in Odisha. The same thing is happening on the west coast. Delhi Mumbai expressway is stuck in MH with land acquisition happening very very slowly. So, most likely Gujarat ports like Mundra will now service the landlocked northern states via the Delhi-Surat expressway.
