Purvanchal express way per km construction cost(excluding land acquisition cost) comes to around 4.7 million $ , how does it compare to rest of the world?

with land acquisition cost it comes to 8.7 million $ per km.

keep in mind this is an elevated expressway.

Including land acquisition cost, it comes to Rs 65 crore per km whereas in the world benchmark super power land of Banga-jhatus, the cost of only expressway is Rs 175 crore per Km. 175/65 = Bangas are 2.7 times richer than us, thus proved.

The construction cost of the Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga Expressway, the only expressway so far built in Bangladesh, was Tk200 crore per kilometre

Just asking how much you think cost per km will come down if govt had passed land acquisition bill ? Prices of land are only going up north year on year either its close to highway or barren land in middle of nowhere . How much of land would have been taken from private individuals for such projects and how much for state govt land holdings ? aren't inflated project cost are better way to transfer some money from centre to state govt?

haven’t looked at it recently, but I think whatever increased compensation GoI wanted to give thru land acquisition bill they giving it anyways.

To over come land acquisition costs issue, they are mapping the expressway taking land value into account using satellite imagery. this is why you will see Delhi Mumbai expressway cutting thru small hills/mountains.

Donno about the thrird question.

UP expressways are fully funded by UP gov, not central govt. NHAI funded expressway continue to remain as central govt assets, transfer of central govt funds to state govt doesn’t arise.

Ya'll Nibbiars The actual cost is much lower than said here but still higher in Bangladesh. The Samruddhi Maha Marge has costed around less than 70 crores per KM and ofcoures the 5 crores per km increase is due to many sections spans through extreme mountainous regions. The cost of construction of The Expressway in India is less than most of the world.

The Jalgaon Nanded Expresway is estimated to cost around 50 crores per Km the lowest in recent times.

Ya'll Nibbiars yeah and also mostly plain region and the construction cost of 5,500 crores which is also the lowest in the recent times. The cost Increases if the terrain is difficult. In Himalaya it would be astronomical even to lay a 4 lane highway. And even in valley like kullu as the environment need to be taken care of with or without environmentalist.

Ya'll Nibbiars looks like the Jewar Airports will get the Investment of 9,000 crores rather than the 10,000 crores projected in the First phase. And now what this Foreign based promoters are going to cut don't knew. Should have gone with a domestic Firms.

@Crazywithmath i think Raxaul-Haldia Expressway will join Kathamandu Nijgadh expressway so its basically Kathmandu-Patna-Kolkata expressway
new airports are being planned in Nijgadh in nepal and Raxaul in india

Yes Raxaul airport was built after india china war of 1962 now it’s being upgraded
centre has asked Bihar state government to acquire land for Raxaul airport
I fear the slow land acquisition process in Bihar may delay this ambitious project which will undermine the security of india vis a vis China
