from a Mumbai perspective, sure. Let it grow as per its capacity and requirement. No problem.

but from India’s economic security perspective, there should be and will be attempts to diversify urban infrastructure development funding, which is already happening anyways as evidenced by new metro construction projects around the country.
We are building new cities and its a good thing. Lets see how it goes.

Build heights are proportional to urban density. In order to allow more people per sq km. in a city, you need to have road and rail transport infrastructure that support the required logistics and transport needs of more people per sq. km. In addition, you need more services such as more Hospitals and Schools. So if you want ubqiquitous Supertalls in Mumbai, you need to address the infrastructure limitations first.
Ofcourse, Public transport infra coupled with area development will cater to that. Mumbai eastern waterfront is an example. They could integrate it with public transport systems and build supertalls there.

My Bad. Yeah World One is 280 meter. 442 meter was the proposed height which got objected by AAI as pointed out nicely by @Okabe Rintarou.
Others are under various stages of construction.
Ya'll Nibbiars World one 285 meters. And world View 290 meters.

Not sure if the current planned infra there is capable of supporting 3 times the urban density.
