deck coatings done flight trials should start soon.Note that MFSTAR is still not installed something seriously wrong with its delivery schedule
Looks like they will go to sea trials without MFSTAR, cannot explain the omission, can’t be made fully operational without it, seems like IN has little priority in this ship

An Indian Navy MiG-29K "Sea Baaz" being loaded on the IAC-1. This specific semi-knocked-down airframe will be employed to study the deck and hangar movements onboard the indigenous aircraft carrier.
DATE UNKNOWN
Indian Navy will soon begin touch-and-go, landing and ski-jump trials with fixed-wing aircraft soon. The commisioning ceremony of the ship is scheduled to be held in August 2022.

The article is a few days old (published on 28th April)

Mentions the following-

> "The final sea trial was scheduled for this month but faced a slight delay. We will hand over the IAC to Indian Navy next month after which the ship will take the name of INS Vikrant. India's first aircraft carrier will be commissioned on Independence Day in August this year,"

> CSL officials said a new aircraft carrier of IAC specifications can be built by the shipyard in just five years. According to them, IAC is 60 per cent indigenously made, while the remaining 40 per cent of its components are imported

The 60% mentioned here is likely to be the actual indigenous content (*designed and developed* in India) excluding the licence production of several components under ToT.

A press release last year mentioned "more than 76%" which is likely to include the subsystems produced under licence (https://pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1743815)

Another article mentions the money that went back into the economy (spent within India), at 80-85% of the project cost (also includes labour & services cost). Which is ₹18,400-19,550cr

> The Navy calculates that about 80-85 per cent of the project cost of approximately Rs 23,000 crore has been ploughed back into the Indian economy.( https://indianexpress.com/article/e...1-the-made-in-india-aircraft-carrier-7438715/ )

Are there any videos of night time ops on the IAC or InS Vik including aircraft landings? That would be cool videos to post as the carrier deck is lit with various lights against a dark sea.

Video of MiG-29K landing on INS Vikramaditya at night.

I am so eagerly waiting for TEDBF to enter service with IN so that we can see it Land and take-off from our AC's.

Very nice pic...but speaking of vikramaditya that thing has been sitting pier side in karwar for over an year ...that means our pilots got 0 sorties on carrier for the past year.

This is one thing for which I am rooting for the US!
F/A-18 is probably the best carrier born aircraft currently (F-35 are not for us).
Though I love Mig-29K too. Rafale-M are only used by French so can't day much about it.
If we somehow manage to get F/A-18 SH then how will we manage both Mig-29K and SH together?
