Damn! This thread is quiet! I am posting some updates;

👆She actually made a 7 meter foul and also an 6.8 + meter foul en route. For context; at Tokyo 2020 the gold medal was won with a 7 m jump.

👆Remeber his name. After Srikanth, HSP and Sen he is our newest star.

Satwiksairaj-Chirag create history: Become first Indian men’s duo to clinch Badminton Asia Championships title

The India duo lost the first game. But they made a comeback worth remembering in the next two games to clinch the title

That match against the man mountain no. 1 Axelsen really was something else. It took a lot out of him though for the next one but he ensured that our 12 yr medalling streak was preserved.
Still think there is no way a fully fit Prannoy would lose out to Vitidsaran. Same with Lakshya (he was scary in 2021-22 before sustaining that injury) - post his return he is yet to win a match spanning 3 games. They both need to work on fitness and sit out a few tourneys if needed but the Olympic qualification circle makes things complicated. Kidambi Srikanth is done tho; don't foresee him coming back.

In Neeraj Chopra we have an elite level sportsman - not just track and field athlete - on the global stage, not unlike Bolt was in sprinting. Jena would have got gold in the Tokyo Olympics with his throw today to give you an idea of the depth we have in just 1 sport now. I think in another decade or so we will compete with S Korea and Japan too in some of the events like Swimming, Diving, Gymnastics, Cycling, Fencing, Rowing, Canoeing where they win many golds consistently. Already we have made good strides in track and field the past decade and that 400m relay team competed well in the last CWG and the World championships in Budapest last month against all the T&F powerhouses which is no mean feat.

It will be touch and go but we can still go past 100 in 3 days time with the events still left.
