The Sig is piston operated, easier to service, fouls less and also has less chance for a stoppage. The whole 550 series are just damn well made quality guns. The slight front heavy nature of the 552 makes it better at managing recoil. Every part of this rifle is high quality, and that made it expensive as hell. Buying an HK416A5 in today's money is probably cheaper. The 550, 552 Commando and 553 are much more sophisticated than a Colt M4 overall. The M4 beats them at customization and the massive aftermarket stuff available for it. The factory triggers on the 550 series are comparable to highest quality aftermarket AR triggers. But for the price of a 552/553 you can buy an M4 with a LAM and a scope.
