Force one will arrive first, then the NSG hub’s team then the CTTF from Delhi if required. For a complex operation like Taj no one outside of CTTF comes even close to their capabilities and organisation, let’s not delude ourselves.

NSG has helped raise all these state units to
Be the first responders as they know it’s not possible for NSG to do that role.

A national intervention force is absolutely needed for a nation like India but as other units expand they should contract in size and become even more specialised. As I said above there shouldn’t be a need for SRG to exist after a certain point and SAG should only remain to focus on CT/HR/anti-hijacking.

in this instance SRG are there to act as a CAT for the occasion, if Delhi police SWAT weren’t a complete and utter disgrace this role should be given to
Them.

NSG in the future should evolve into a FBI HRT type entity- small but very specialised and given parity with tier1 military units. CTTF is actually an very commendable thing india has, perhaps it and ready teams in the hubs is all NSG should be in the future not this mammoth entity it is right now.

+ there were barely 30 Garuds at pathankot, that mission was never going to succeed without NSG.
IMO Force One type Units in Mega Cities + CRPF QAT Teams can handle the role of the NSG Hubs and NSG can downsize to great extent and house permanent cadre.

These are pictures from last year that have already been posted on this thread, why bring them up again? That to when they ain’t even SF. I get posting once because the gear should be meant for a special force, but posting them again is not required.
No you misunderstood the concept....I know it's not new. It was indeed a meme to our forum Bois demanding Operator wale look from our forces.

Controlled reduction and instead spending on high end equipment and updating location specific training is the only thing that can be done . I'm talking about Indian forces as a whole . The sheer size of CAPF is absurd referring to the theory of "Quantity has its own quality" and it does . But even after observing, I realise that we have over excessive no. of Personnel favouring above just gigantic . The size of CAPF should be decreased by atleast 1× fold of its current size since requirements have dropped . Same goes for NSG , SRG should reduce their size and spend more on equipment since their role is limited .
CRPF (standard) should decrease their size a little , since QATs and CoBRAs are doing a good job in their sector and hence need more attention .(QATs are receiving a good attention). CISF should reduce its size drastically and also look for good equipment alternatives since they are one of the most outdated . Army is doing big lot of border work and security hence reducing border CAPF units should be a good choice (ITBP ,SSB ,BSF )

You could just merge border units that alone will reduce their size. In the next decade hopefully NSG will and i will advocate for Para SF to reduce its size too.

NSG did buy some Kriss Vector SMGs for testing purpose. It didn't meet their requirements. They opted for Sig MPX instead.

I also feel that NSG should try out some Daniel Defence Mk18s SBRs (or similar rifles) for testing purpose. They should try out whether it can fullfill the needs of current MP5s used during room interventions and CQBs.

MK18s should become standard carbine among all services, but it has an older quad rail system, so we should better go for an M-LOK carbine.

I think Ar-15s can be replacement for Sig 550 series , cause NSG has already found the successor to Mp5 with MPX . I think , I'd prefer them to go for MCX since they already have a history of Sig purchases . might even go for a few hundred .300 blks considering their line of work

Mate I don't think that importing such a big bulk for all forces would help anyway , if you consider all forms of armed forces Incl CAPF and Tri-service . It would take less than around a decade to actually produce so many Carbines . I'm sincerely waiting for the SSS Defence Carbine response in the form of Ar-15 and Defexpo 2022 , despite all the copy paste and import and assembly they did aur kuch mahino k liye jo ch*t*ya they made us

Did I say import it? 1 million carbines for Armed Forces and CAPF will be sweet enough for a huge domestic manufacturing plant.

Murica won't allow prolly
Then we have many other alternatives, its just MoD delaying the process.
Well I don't expect any development on this RFI either , four years later and we'll again complain that this deal isn't working out . I'm still not hopeful

Now that both TAR and AK-203 will be domestically manufactured, we desperately need some domestic manufacturing of AR style rifles.

I don't think it will be very difficult for ARDE guys to copy an AR-15/10 design which can be passed down to a private manufacturer like Bharatforge to manufacture.

Even the MCIWS in 7.62*51 mm caliber with a MLOK handguard can be a good supplement to the 144k Sig-716s (if MOD does not go for future Sig orders) to equip the rest of the Infantry.
