IMO Indian SF were at the top of anyone's game through the 80s and 90s. Decline was post kargil / 2000s.Me neither but given we have gone downhill in 20yrs i will give his authenticity a full 20%
We can still catchup and some baby steps being takenIMO Indian SF were at the top of anyone's game through the 80s and 90s. Decline was post kargil / 2000s.
In the 80s and 90s MARCOS was one of the top 5 Naval SOF units to be able to do a blue water jump with a full combat load. Have we maintained our edge since then comparative to other SOF units in the world ? Smaller countries like Poland, Phillipines, Malaysia, South Korea have evolved their SoF forces with the times. It's no longer the purview of a few western countries only.
Hell look at the strides African SOF units have made.
What has been our delta of improvement? And this is more a Military leadership problem than a civilian leadership problem.
High/low ready are not very judiciously applied here so to be expected. He was pointing his Rifle towards his buddy so View attachment 132607
I have only seen Para SF do the low ready, and i don't really expect the regular soldiers to do it since the Sights are not issued which delays the acquisition of target.High/low ready are not very judiciously applied here so to be expected.
But then again, reacquiring the right cheekweld & sight alignment is more problematic with reflex optics like those used in the video, so there's some advantage for maintaining the cheekweld as long as possible.
Holosights would make it easier/faster to acquire & reacquire targets, affording the users to employ high/low ready more frequently - an example of how equipment & training complement each other.
In 2022 simply put - Shiite kit = Shiite training.an example of how equipment & training complement each other
Unofficial Standard of 7 ParaCamo??
Maybe to complement and subsequently replace the C-90s they’ve been usingView attachment 132841
The one’s for IAF are almost certainly for Garuds, can’t say about which branch in the Army will get it, but it does make sense for PARA and Ghataks. (My Opinion).

western modernization started from the gwot.Is it just me who thinks that our sf were really good in their early days for that time especially Marcos with op Pawan and op cactus, if we have paid some attention and moved along with the time then our sf would have been wonderful but sadly our generals shivers with the idea of modernization, now foreign units which came into existence decades after our sf are considered best,
highly unlikely. western and russian sf were on their tiptoes during that era.IMO Indian SF were at the top of anyone's game through the 80s and 90s. Decline was post kargil / 2000s.

Army will still ignore buying it and stick to the same old way, don’t expect much. Here even a bi-nod is considered a luxury when quads are becoming standard elsewhere.
Boyssssss!!
