Just post these 'dudes' near the loc then we will soon see this equipment with our sf guys :daru::cowboy:
Like it or not the SSG has conducted cross border raids and killed our regulars on several occasions whether it be as BAT or in general. Their operational tempo is far higher than ours due to the flexibility they recieve in their operational mandate.

So, what Tier 1 units use is taken as standard, you mean? Equipment is always selected not only based on requirement but availability as well. And when it is not an organised acquisition it results in a cluster of equipment.

One thumb rule: Always talk about things that you have experienced on a public forum
Supposedly drop leg holsters have a tendency to shift and pivot along the thighand since the thigh is active and can change position it's harder to get a consistent draw, and there's more range of motion for the draw as opposed to a chest/hip variant

The above graph is a time stamp. only guns over a long period leads to a Soviet style economic collapse. Pakistan js a living example.

And it's not about corruption. We spend less on education and healthcare per capita than military. How many people died during Covid not because of Covid but because hospitals were shut it djdnt have infra ?

The ONLY ones who have merged guns and butter is the Chinese where the CCP owns bkth industry and the Military. Sadly I wouldn't touch such a society with a barge pole

Again National Security is not just the purview of the military. Increase GNP and Natsec solves itself to a large extent.

Anywys all this is OT. Back to SF.

We don't have a sniper school, combat medic school, shit comms, shit isr and/or mobility to power project in our neighborhood. We have ZERO night fighting capability today. Giving nods means squat if the rest of logistics chain is night blind.

If we have none of the above how can our training be up to par ? Because our boys can run 100 miles up and down a mountain in battle gear ?
Forget Sniper school, we don't have ANY strategic institutions, especially ones meant to educate officers on a higher level and ptofuce research.

And how many of them have died while attempting to cross the border itself?

Very few success b/w high attempts.
Not exactly, we too have a habit of downplaying or leaving reasons for casualties vague, the only line we haven't crossed is hiding casualties like Pakistan. If you're willing, you can find a lot of footage of Indian troops getting decimated in near ambushes or sniped across the border. They're not exactly pioneering special operations but they aren't toothless like people make them out to be.

No one ever said they are toothless but they also get smoked by Regular Infantry. The ambushes are a bit rarer and before Cease fire the Sniper was common much because of we lacking the sniper range to counter.

Which type of institution you are referring to.
Geo-political education, warfare research institutions etc. If you look it up there's several critical strategic institutions dead in the water. Ever wonder why few more than a comfortable number of generals have absolutely brain dead takes on geo-poltics? Or why professionalism and knowledge is kinda lacking when it comes to subject matter expertise like when the top brass officers unanimously began to blame the 5.56 caliber without so much as a study? Or ehy logistics, despite being the most crucial aspect to our defense (especially north-east) has been slept on sll this time?

I dont think that's because of Education a officer gets. We over estimates what a General can do while we forget most of our procurement is done for political reason. Thats how you endup with both Mig29s and Mirages. And Top Brass how much one likes to blame them are not always wrong. Everyone judges army desicion based on theoretical knowledge over practical. TBH we can just speculate. If you are angry why we switched to 7.62 thats because we were not getting the benefits of 5.56 but were suffering from its downsides.
Also you cant teach someone Geo politics and its has hundreds of takes and two people can and most probably have different takes.

Again, if we're going down that road special operation troops the world over get clapped now and then by insurgents no less. Tom Satterly put it best and i'm paraphrasing: "you got some extremely well trained and experienced operators alongside you in the unit only to watch them get shot by a 16 year old who picked up an AK just the other day, and you realize 'well there's some luck involved in this shit that you can do nothing about..."
