BIG REVELATION

ex-special secretary (R&AW) G.B.S. Sidhu, on page 132 of his book The Khalistan Conspiracy, said:
"...Special Frontier Force, an adjunct of a bigger group known as Establishment 22..."

He is saying that SFF is just a part of Establishment 22, not a nickname !! And the word "adjunct" means that SFF is not even the main part of Establishment 22 !!

See the photo if you can't believe it:
SFF just a part of est 22.jpg

This is not correct. Est 22 is the nickname of the SFF after the First DG of SFF who was the CO of 22nd Mountain. (British Indian Army).

There is no larger org.

Yes I have heard that.
Maybe you are right. Maybe not.
We canโ€™t know for sure.

My best guess would be an organisation somewhat equivalent to the Special Activities Center of the CIA, going by the use of the word "adjunct".

But, alas, we can only speculate.

PS. The author of that book is a retired high-level RAW officer who led the operation to merge Sikkim with India.
So, he knows what he is saying, and we can believe him.

Thatโ€™s what I said, Para Gurkhas, Special Frontier Force and Special Group combined.
So it might be a Intelligence JSOC or USSOCOM.

They get free aid frm amrika where as our โ‚น is eaten up by higher up besides having gears doesn't mean you are an effective force see how Taliban with old ak kills Afghans forces
Whatever makes you feel better

Whatever the reason a dirt poor nation has superior SF operators to an aspiring superpower

Hence i dont rank Indian SF anywhere in the top 20 SF of the world on basis of anything at all.
Top 20? There are 30 nations in NATO, every single one of them will have superior SOFs to India, then include the Afghans, Israelis, Iraqis, Kiwis, Aussies, and ASEAN nations. I'd be surprised if Indian SFs were able to crack the top 50.

I've said it for a while that you would be hard pressed to find worse equipped SF units on the planet unless it's literally a failed nation you're looking at.

Sending special forces at un peace keeping can help sf to get some better experience ?
UN ops are no high intensity, they are not offensive and they are not suited to SFs at all. Almost no top tier SOF unit is sent on a blue helmet deployment.

So it might be a Intelligence JSOC or USSOCOM.
Don't use terms from other militaries just to fit to what you think these guys do.

Special Group has very very little to do with SFF on a day to day basis and especially as far as operations go.

Please notice his use of the word โ€œadjunctโ€. It means that Establishment 22โ€™s main role is not special operations.

Establishment 22 is a nickname for SFF. Because the first CO was from of 22 Mountain of rhe British Indian Army. Nothing more nothing less. SFF primary mandate is behind Chinese lines to kick start a tibetian insurgency.

The sensationalism above in the thread is not based in reality.
There is no super org over it. The Author of the book definitely mispoke / was mis quoted or just didn't state the facts correctly. I have a couple of veteran tibetian who are good family friends in Dharamshala. They served through the 70s/80/90s in the SFF
