Joint exercise between NSG and CISF.
@Gessler had posted it a while back on another forum.
They were originally from @Unknowncommando 2.

Raider-Ex high cut ballistic helmets from US-based CPG Armor. Occasionally seen in use by NSG though they are anything but widespread/standard at the moment (right now that would still be ACH-pattern helmets from various companies, domestic & foreign).

They are modeled on the original OpsCore FAST pattern of high-cuts.

Hoga toh pehnenge.
So where do you think we went wrong?

The 80s was full of Special Forces action and many SF battalions and Marcos evolved in the 80s.

So it was not like the top brass or the upcoming top brass was not aware what special ops are.

Even now if we leave modernisation aside the deployment of SF like Infantry troops be it in Kargil or some ops in Kashmir has been shocking.

Which shows a mindset that SF is not only given budget but also not right ops.

And going ahead we are increasing the gap every single day as the warfare is mordernising..How do we go about equiping ourself for being at par with the best in 2030?(your thoughts)

Lastly,is the unit budget enough to buy some critical equipment at battalion level?

Weโ€™re delaying the infantry modernisation, SF modernisation is still a dream.
Seeing the soldiers still wear those WWII helmets, INSAS rifles and that old Camo smh.

Sir this is the biggest blunder we are doing with our special forces we are using them for day to day tactical ops like counter insurgency which ghatak can even do

NSG was better suitable for Pampore operation (EDI Building).
PARA(SF) was best for Pathankot Operation.
Nsg or 1 para sf was suitable because they are trained for urban warfare and in pathankot operation even a normal infantry can handle that situation because their was no hostage situation or hijacking and jkedi pampore task was given to soldiers from 10 and 9 para which trained for desert and mountain warfare respectively

So a Desi SMASH-2000 developed by Indiaโ€™s Defsys Solutiona Pvt. Ltd. has been delivered to Indian Army, although Iโ€™m not able to find this product in their website, but seems to be similar to SMASH-2000+ that the Indian Navy has bought for MARCOS.

You could've made this argument 20 years ago. Now Para SF Bns are cross trained for all theaters. @AVINASH4061
