They are being made or plan to be made but nobody asked them to be made. The IA has shown zero inclination

Those are 14.5” Carbines, SF usually need Short Barrel Rifles in most operations. Our M4A1s are already equipped with SOPMOD Block-1 for specific operations.
SBRs + Suppressors are part of tactical SOPs. We don't have that so there is no requirement.

Our suppressors are for point men and for killing guards only

While We are still debating basic things like plat carriers, ceramic inserts etc this is what the west will start transitioning to in the coming years.

read a random rumour that the Combat Applications Group has been testing prototypes already

I came to know about it a decade ago.

Dont worry in the year 2056 we will be inducting our first liquid armour.

You missed 10SF.

All battalions are not equal. Each has different standards of selection and training. Nothing uniform
There does exist some degree of standardization in terms of syllabus and modules to be taught as far as I know.

I'm guessing the degree of variance stems from the AO as well. Along the same lines, that much variation exists in US SOF ODAs and Tier-1 squadrons as well, if the books written about them are to be believed.

1 para, 2 para, 3para, 4para, 9para, 11para, 12para, 21para all are SF battalions, I guess you confused battalion with regiment
There are 17 battalions in Parachute Regiment!!

Of which:-
* 9 battalions are Parachute Special Forces battalions
* 5 battalions are regular infantry Paratroopers
* 2 Territorial Army (TA)
* 1 Rashtriya Rifles (RR)
Out of these 8th battalion was decommissioned

For USSFGs Selection is uniform. Theater specific training is imparted when you get sent to a specific ODA.

In india every SF battalion runs it's onw Selection in a vacume. Sylubus is a guideing stick yes but instructors have their own standards and then imparts further training in house. That's one of the reason 9 claims to be the best of the best. The entire process is not very data/science driven but experience driven. The experience itself is not very well captured nor distilled . Institutional memory in india still is quiet poor

Instead of unit level selection it should be done at SFTS.

And instead of wasting resources on these selections the units should be improving their own skills.

Nope. Paras have nothing from that list.
They do have but it is SOPMOD Block-I for commando operations, you need short barrel rifles for special operations.

Both charging handle and rear sight are A2 standard. Rear sight not used on HK416. Also, that is the most common AR-15 charging handle you'll find in the world.
