those bunch of farmers also included my relatives from thandi Khui village in sunjanpur just 12km from my hometown pathankot
My dadi's father was a big Salaria Zamindar there , the pakistani officer who was to lead the mission had fallen onto a tree on Kali Mata mandir and died because of which he wasn't able to organise his men ( his parachute didn't open my dadi said ) . The remaining men were disarmed by police and later some troops from mahar regiment came to take control of the situation .

Then I have good news for you, there exists a dedicated gunner/door operator for certain aircraft (including Mi-17) which requires that.

Also, Garuds are not "assigned" a door-gunner position for any flight, but they are more likely to take control if they are executing a mission through the chopper.

Garuds have not been "deployed as door gunners", they are simply "deployed" in choppers for their protection. See the difference ?

Erm , how was he 'schooled' by the veteran ? Did the good Major point out any technical or tactical reasons which explained why the holster was worn that way ? He just accused the OP of being an arm chair general and walked away, no explanation as to why the way the soldier is wearing the holster in that particular fashion is correct or more practical etc... This is called emotional response not a logical response to a criticism (albeit from an arm chair general)
