I think its AK-19 if a 5.56 AK is to be procured. AK-101 is like an AK-103 chambered in 5.56.

I do bank on the second one, Airborne and SF are receiving newer flat tops so they could be giving away their old ones but the First one is not far fetched either

Will it be all that bad watching marcos run tricked out AKs in 5.56? I am conflicted.

They don't come for charity or show they come for interoperability and both forces share their experiences same goes when we go to Indonesia or Russia teaching does not equal interoperability even in exercises large exercises in AF and navy . No one is fool to spend fuel , time and money for charity seems you are going way out of your mind too much reddit special forces .

if those units were so desperate for Indian expertise they wouldn’t spend half the time doing cultural PR stunts (yoga, sports, dancing etc) or sitting around conducting table top exercises or just showing Indian side their small arms (I remember one of the vajra prahar editions where the first few days were just showing the Indian side to use the M4). They’d be conducting dynamic realistic training

Contrast the SF competitions US SF does in S.America, ME or Europe to Vajra Prahar. In VP the most they work up to is some room clearing in a 2 storey kill house

I would argue, its them having the right people who are in authority to make the call, they have more autonomy in their Respective branches compared their counterparts in Army.

Marcos seems to be ahead of Garuds strictly my opinion. Marcos have started to deploy Utility Belts, High Cuts in higher numbers, PVS-31s in Higher Numbers. Garuds and Marcos both have quality BPJs for some good time now.

Weapon handling of Garuds seems to be on the whole the best from what I’ve seen, MARCOs aren’t too far behind

PARA SF is terminally ill, I will just leave it at that. I think their issues are well catalogued by now (over stretched by tactical commitments, far too large with a lack of SF leadership, conventional army is generally ambivalent to SF as they think they can do most of the same things etc) but I think it’s also fair to say IA in general is the least sophisticated of the 3 services and more backwards so that reflects on the dynamics.
