Scrap AK-203, Waste of money.
Or get the Bulgarian to provide an updated version, but stick to the Kalashnikov for troops. All the other acquisition will backfire for us. For the elite force we can get fancy rifles, but mass troops to be quipped with Kalashnikov.
OFB products well let's forget,it is going to be another INSAS fiasco.

At a unit cost of Rs150k well good luck equipping Indian army with it. Will eat big chunk of budget.
Some amount rifles are already have been bought, so ordering it in large no. would cost less.

That is why you stick to Kalashnikov reliable, rugged, no fancy but works superbly.
Get the ak203 deal optics addition can be done by us. All this galil, tavor, scar look sexy but that's it.
Have the Tavor and M4s failed in any situation in India as of now ? They have been in use for a while and have been everywhere. Why would the AKs ruggedness be a point in contention? Indian Army Jawans are not capable of maintaining a rifle ?
