China can't defeat us all alone keep that in your brain don't know what joint do you take on saying that china sf and inf. Are more capable to fight than our para sf boys just coz of a bit outdated in eq. to the Western standard and yeah that ego of general and higher up really is pain in the ass . Don't know how you can place bet on thing that haven't even once been battlefield tested sf are tested since they were raised .
People are conflating experience in counter insurgency operations and modern wars.
For starters the Indian military's "experience" invariably makes little difference, because extracting benefits from experience requires it to be institutionalized from individual encounters, studied, and then implemented in training/doctrine; and as coldhearted aviator pointed out, that is not even a consideration let alone a reality.
For another: you're entire narrative is steeped in subjective conclusions built on watching Indian news channels, instead of sifting through raw data and information.

its so easy to comment on someones profession by some people here on the thread who cannot even type 10 words without making a grammatical mistake.
its so easy to comment on someones profession
1)<it's or it is> with a capital < It's or It is>.
2)someone's.
3)<so> is an unnecessary word. consider removing it. the sentence goes by < It's easy>.

its so easy to comment on someones profession by some people here on the thread who cannot even type 10 words without making a grammatical mistake.
The entire sentence has been phrased improperly. It's neither in active voice nor in passive voice.

Here are your grammatical mistakes.

its so easy to comment on someones profession by some people here on the thread who cannot even type 10 words without making a grammatical mistake.

Here's the better and meaningful one.

It's easy to comment on someone's profession because some people here on the thread cannot even type 10 words without making a grammatical mistake.

By the way, you've made 3 mistakes in the first 7 words. :troll:

Narrative of which side?
Nothing just the breed you would see so c/a analyst aand ke na gand ke gyan chode brahmand ke jab koi reason ni toh job dekho meri. Told this guys Shukla and Lt. Gen. HS Pang being biased China could overtake India in current position where it cannot overtake Taiwan let alone India with its geographical and geopolitical condition . New guys? Just a reason that you can't defend your answer seen this shit . A guy who barely knows what's taught to new recruits , navigation during nightime etc . If you have some shit other than throwing your job at a guy who is in 2nd yr do tell no one has tied your hands you are free you have nothing in secrecy to withhold.

No it wouldn't. You could cover everything in 60-70,000, most of which is eaten up by NVGs.
$100,000 is the top end of the budget for JSOC levels

30-40K of which would be for the quad tubes, SDR maybe 1-2K, rifle (with attachments/accessories) 3-5K then all the ancillary stuff that you won’t see immediately to achieve their mission profiles- 10-20K easily

I’m sure @Gessler has a full list with a cost breakdown somewhere.

Either way it’s peanuts compared to the Indian defence budget, pretty sure the GoI spends more on stationery than they do on Indian SFs annually. It’s all about will, let’s never mention money here again, that’s not relevant in the slightest.

SPG’s budget is something like 100-150 million USD, only a fraction will be CAPEX but still this is a force of less than 4000 personnel. Where there’s a will there will be a way, but the strategic mindset just isn’t there- super infantry mindset pervades in SF ranks and their superiors.

I remmeber reading somewhere The life cycle cost of training and equipping a Tier 1 operator through his entire tenure is 3-4mil.

300 rounds a week adds up over 10-15 years
I wonder how much of that includes salaries. Middle ranked NCOs in a Tier 1 unit have salaries of easily $100k/year and they get fat re-enlistment bonuses too (upwards of 30K)

I’ve heard the training cost of a US SOF operator is around 1 million per man for all the specialised schools they get sent to, probably a bit more for a tier 1 guy but adjust it for cost of living differences and it’s not a huge cost relatively for the Indian exchequer.

Not me, I guess it was someone else that posted a breakdown on here once.

Either way, the cost argument is utter BS.

To put it simply, one can seriously upgrade the equipment of the entire SF community in India (about ~10k operators) to a very respectable standard (especially if indigenous alternatives are sought) for not much more than the price of just 1 of these:

Imagine what we could accomplish with a billion dollars. We could probably revamp the whole support structure as well.

no idea how much true Gen Pang claims are , he also claimed Black top was under our control . which is very clearly false.

but one thing that disappoints me , is that we lost F4 ridge in May because they were wearing kelvar body armor , riot shield , face shield . fuckers even came with strobe lights . thats the extend of their forward thinking.

our guys on other hand looked like they were wearing those bowl helmets.
Just ask any serving personnel about state of readiness of army. No need to blindly accept any one's articles as absolute Truth. What I know is that our army is grossly under equiped and lacks a doctrine. We work on an adhoc basis. Our leaders lack aptitude to war game future scenarios. Coming to special forces, they are a part of a larger machinery and how can you expect a part of a system to act differently when the entire system lacks a direction. Solution lies in a long term plan aka national security doctrine, without which we will keep on working in adhoc manner and perhaps even loose wars.

Just like to add something, we should not blindly follow any one person, I think we should try to listen to as many person as possible and come to our own conclusions.
For eg .
You can watch the debate of AJAI SUKLA and ABHIJIT IYER MITRA on INDIA TODAY to get better picture and conclusions.
