Rambo stuff or real SF stuff. The side of SG that is seen and spoken of in general media is the assault team designated for CI grid. Basically counter intelligence and counter insurgency operations.
The side which is not seen ... is not seen. And that is the truly Rambo stuff
I hope it stays as it isThe side of SG that is seen and spoken of in general media is the assault team designated for CI grid. Basically counter intelligence and counter insurgency operations.

Doesn't this make it an easier target to shoot down?Interesting...
How is it different from our operators latching on to wires under a HeloDoesn't this make it an easier target to shoot down?
They have a tough fight ahead
Fleet VBSS teams are not trained or prepared for high intensity hostile boarding missions, they are there to go up against smugglers and the like who are unlikely to be armed with anything, the gulf of Aden is a very different beast and the Somali pirates are often heavily armed with AKs, RPGs and PKMsShouldnโt these duties be the job of VBSS teams? You donโt see the US Navy sending SEALs onboard everyday for VBSS.
Someone has to provide armed security for the at-risk Indian missions in the world, india doesnโt seem to have an official force charged with it so itโs done more of an ad-hoc basis, Afghan missions get ITBP personnel and Iraqi get CRPF (not CoBRAs but a hand picked contingent)@rkhanna @COLDHEARTED AVIATOR @abingdonboy
I've always wondered this...are they really ITBP personnel guarding the diplomatic buildings? Or just a cover for SG guys?
What expertise does ITBP have in diplomatic security? It's not even their mission (far as I know anyway) and the country in question is not even near the India-Tibet border which is their mandate.
NSG has the same system (sourced from France after interactions with GIGN)Interesting...
I spoke to someone that actually knows about this sort of stuff and he said the that 90% of the work SG does is not on Indian soil. The side of SG that is seen and spoken of in general media is the assault team designated for CI grid. Basically counter intelligence and counter insurgency operations.

Where does it say anything about PARA (SF) here? This isnโt a procurement by AFSOD or even IA HQ but northern command onlyArmy Northern Command just had an RFI to buy HELMET MOUNTED PANORAMIC NIGHT VISION BINO
Basic surface areaHow is it different from our operators latching on to wires under a Helo
If anything this is more "comfy" for lack of a better word
It allows you to insert/extract people & kit that's not trained or checked out to be fast roped/rappelled/SPIE rigged. How is it different from our operators latching on to wires under a Helo

This thing has a larger surface area, hence an easy target, latching onto rope is still betterHow is it different from our operators latching on to wires under a Helo

Mexico in reality.
