@AVINASH4061 sir, how important is a folding stock in a Carbine? As in the carbine RFI for the army, it was mentioned that both adjustable and folding stock is required, but if this is heavily stressed upon AR 15 rifles would be eliminated due to the buffer tube in the stock, many in the small arms thread were wondering how essential is the requirement for a foldable stock?

Only Indian made P-72 Carbine meets the RFI as it has a foldable and adjustable stock, don’t know the specs if it’s length with extended stock is more than 800mm or not. Other than that only FN SCAR and CZ BREN are left, SCARs are banned to us, and CZ BREN is a copy of SCAR.

0.1 kg sounds small on internet, it is a big weight incriment. Can someone share previous carbine RFI?

If it is available for the patrol variant, it can be installed on the SBR variant

The SiG-716i rifles we got come with Magpul furniture, like the stock is a Magpul CTR which is not foldable.

Bureaucrats in MoD doesnt choose the specifics but the army top brass. So if the GSQR is shitty and unrealistic like the earlier multi caliber assault rifle tender then the only one to blamed is the army top brass who signed it.Most times GSQRs are tailor made for one single company.
